rudd 2We reported yesterday that Phil Rudd of AC/DC was arrested for a murder for hire plot, but there is an update that may bring relief to all fans of the band who is gearing up to release Rock Or Bust on December 2ND. Apparently, the murder for hire charges were dropped due to what an insider called Insufficient evidence. However according to my source, the nightmare isn’t over just yet because he is still being charged with threatening to kill and the Marijuana and Meth charges. Tauranga Crown Solicitor Greg Hollister-Jones told the Associated Press that he was given the case after Rudd was initially charged and he went on to say, “The file was obtained today and reviewed. There was insufficient evidence to proceed with the charge of attempting to procure murder.” Rudd’s lawyer Paul Mabey wasn’t too happy as he told the press, “Mr. Rudd has suffered unnecessary and extremely damaging publicity as a result of widespread and sensational reporting of a very serious allegation, which on any basis was never justified. The damage to Mr. Rudd is incalculable.” He also stated he was going to fight the threatening to kill charge because if he is convicted of that, he could face up to seven years in prison. Stay tuned here for more info as it becomes available.
