adventuresoffordfairlaneBefore today’s Soundtrack Saturday song ended up on the band’s first greatest hits record Decade Of Decadence or on their b-sides, rarities album  Supersonic and Demonic Relics, the song Rock ‘n Roll Junkie by Motley Crue was featured on a soundtrack to a film featuring one of the most polarizing comedians of the 80’s. The film was The Adventures Of Ford Fairlane that starred Andrew Dice Clay as a detective looking for a groupie who may be a connection in the death of a famous singer played by Vince Neil of Motley Crue. The film also starred Gilbert Gottfried, Lauren Holly, Priscilla Presley, Robert Englund, and Ed O’Neill just to name a few. Vince Neil plays Bobby Black who is the singer of a band called Black Plague which also features Phil Soussan, Randy Castillo, and Carlos Cavazzo who round out his band in the film. The track Rock ‘n Roll Junkie starts off with a pretty cool bass line from Nikki with Tommy hitting the high hat before the guitars kick in, but Nikki’s bass line drives the track all the way through. It’s definitely one of my favorite b-side/rare tracks from Motley Crue that was featured on the Decadence compilation back in 1991. The soundtrack to the film also wasn’t too shabby as it featured tracks from Billy Idol, Sheila E, Queensryche, Richie Sambora, and even a track from Andrew Dice Clay himself. So, hopefully you guys will enjoy today’s Soundtrack Saturday track from one of my all time favorite bands right below this and check out the film, it’s a real laugh.
