tom papa liveThe first time that I had ever heard of comedian Tom Papa was when he starred in Rob Zombie’s animated film The Haunted World Of El Superbeasto as the title character El Superbeasto. It was one of the most hilarious films that I had seen and the two have teamed up once again. Rob Zombie is always into trying new things in the world of film and he directs the comedy special Tom Papa Live In New York City that before Tom hits the stage features a sword swallower, Strong man, beauty queen, and an MC (Rick Crom) that is right up Rob’s alley. In the comedy special, Tom tackles all sorts of fun topics from usernames, Facebook, fitting in, alcohol, dating vs marriage, kids, schools, opera, cheesecake factory, WebMD, going to the gym, vegetarians, being a dad in the old days vs being a dad today, and so much more in his hilarious first hour long comedy special.

tom papaI didn’t realize that this was his first hour long comedy special that he did because I have seen the other comedy special that was also directed by Rob Zombie. Tom Papa is definitely one of the funniest comedians on the scene today and I am sure that if I had kids, it would be even funnier than I thought it was. He connects with fans on their level delivering comedy that they can relate to on every level. He delivers analogies that are so right especially his views on dating versus marriage and what the differences are exactly. Even his views on how guys and girls differ when it comes to their views on marriage was so spot on that I could stop laughing throughout the whole special. Now besides the cool intro, I don’t know how much more involved Rob was with the production of it, but he did a fantastic job as well. A lot of people are saying that his brand of comedy reminds them of Jerry Seinfeld, but I honestly find him funnier than Jerry. I know that I am probably going to get crap for that remark, but its true. I am going to give the special an A- for a final grade. Check it out on Netflix as we speak.
