31-3There are a couple of items that I would love to talk about with all of you out there regarding one of my favorite musicians/Directors in Rob Zombie. My friends and I, have been wondering what the status of Rob’s new horror film 31 was as we are all anxious to see the film. Apparently, the film is set to premiere at Sundance next month, but in order for it to be released it has to secure a rating from the MPAA. Well, Rob is having a little bit of a problem with the MPAA. You see, the MPAA was given two different versions of the film and both times they have given the film an NC-17 rating which is a bad thing. Why is it a bad thing you ask? Well for one and the only reason necessary is that no movie theater in the country will release an NC-17 film at all. Here is the skinny from Rob, “Well, after two tries through the MPAA our rating on 31 remains NC-17Maybe three is the charm to get an R rating. Why R you ask? Well, because your local theater will not show an NC-17. Even though you are a fucking adult… things must be censored for your enjoyment.”

nc17That is definitely not the news you want to hear if you are a zombie fan which means that Zombie has to sacrifice what could potentially be great footage for the film. Hopefully, we’ll get all the cut footage with the DVD release of the film. Here is the synposis of the film and the cast courtesy of ihorror.com, “31 follows five carnival workers who are kidnapped the night before Halloween and held hostage in a large secret compound known as Murder World. Once there, they have 12 hours to survive a terrifying game in which ‘The Heads’- murderous maniacs dressed as clowns – are released to hunt them down and kill them. The film stars Sheri Moon Zombie, Meg Foster, Pancho Moler, Tracy Walter, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Jane Carr, Ginger Lynn, Lew Temple, Daniel Roebuck, E.G. Daily, Malcolm McDowell, Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs, David Ury, Judy Geeson, Torsten Voges, Richard Brake, Bari Suzuki, and Devin Sidell.” After the next piece of news, we will have images for you to check out from the film.

Rob has recently revealed the album art, name, and a teaser of a track for all of you to enjoy. Zombie is on this kick of choosing long names for albums seeing as the last one was called Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor. The new album is called The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser. I love the creativeness behind the album title because I would never have thought of that. Rob also unveiled a minute of the title track which is actually pretty heavy. Rob explains the writing process with John 5 to Loudwire saying, “We’ll just lay down really loose structures. The songs kind of always piece together something pretty raw. Then we’ll let it sit and I’ll do vocals over that … Once I get the vocals on there, then usually John will come back and add another layer where he’ll then play guitars that go along with the vocals or accent things. We kind of keep bouncing back and forth.” I am not sure when the record will be coming out, but it will be unleashed in 2016 and something is getting released on January 11TH so stay tuned for that. Check out the teaser below and some pics from the film below that:
