A company known as Canon films or Golan Globus had the bright idea in the 1980’s to release a film that had to do with arm wrestling. If you think about it, everything had just about been done by that point and why not, but get Sylvester Stallone to star in your film Over The Top. He plays a trucker looking to win a tournament so he can break out on his own by winning a mack truck and rekindle with his son in the process. One of the cool things about the film is the soundtrack which featured the likes of Sammy Hagar, Kenny Loggins (the soundtrack man of the 80’s), Frank Stallone, and today’s Soundtrack Saturday artist Robin Zander of Cheap Trick. Robin performed the track In This Country for the soundtrack and it’s soft rock heaven. The track features some nice keyboard parts along with it’s soft guitars and Robin’s amazing voice. The style of the song reminds me a lot of Cheap Trick’s The Flame if that helps you out. This is a great track and you should check it out below:
