As promised, here is your second Single Of The Week which brings us the metal side of it and what a band to have. There has been quite some controversy with Whitechapel lately ever since there was an announcement that there would be some clean singing on the band’s upcoming album Mark Of The Blade which gets released June 24TH via Metal Blade Records. Apparently, the clean vocals is only in a couple of tracks in certain places because this week’s single of the week which is also the title rack proves they are not getting soft at all. Maybe just a little more polished, but the band still has the fury. Guitarist Alex Wade talked about the album saying, “It’s the most dynamic record we’ve done, in the sense that one song can be very aggressive while the next one will be softer and sentimental. At this point in our career and as we grow older, we are taking a more open-minded approach to creating our music, allowing what we think sounds good to evolve naturally, rather than to just write what is expected of us.” You can’t really blame thew band for wanting to evolve, but this track should give you faith that they still have it. Whitechapel will be hitting the road for their Decade Of The Blade tour which celebrates their tenth anniversary with Fit For A King, the Plot in You and Enterprise Earth until May 22ND before they hit the road for The Warped Tour. Check out the track below and check out the track listing and album cover below that.
