At one time or another, Marilyn Manson was one of those guys who could cover a song successfully by making it his own. I figured since Marilyn is coming to town with Slipknot on the 5TH of July, I would feature a Marilyn Manson cover as the cover of the week. Manson has gone on to cover a lot of songs in his career, but for today I chose his cover of The Doors classic Five To One as this week’s cover of the week. Marilyn recorded the cover of the track for the Stoned Immaculate: The Music of the Doors, but it went unreleased at first before appearing as a b-side for the single for Disposable Teens. Supposedly, he recorded the track with The Doors member Robby Krieger and it sounds absolutely amazing. The track is beefed up and distorted for a whole new generation to enjoy and Manson does a great job vocally making the track his own instead of trying to sound like Morrison. Check out the track below and be sure to check out Manson on tour with Slipknot this summer while you are at it.
