I know what you’re saying that there was already two music videos of the week, but we just couldn’t pass up on this one so now you have three music videos of the week. One of my all time favorite bands to come out of the Nu-Metal scene has always been Korn. They have always found a way to kick ass with their music since 1994 and I have been right there along with the band. Well, Korn has just announced that they have a new album on the horizon The Serenity of Suffering which will be the band’s 12th album overall. The album marks the band’s return to Roadrunner Records and it was produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters /Deftones). The band also unveiled a new track live called Rotting In Vain and now they have unleashed the music video for the track as well. The video primarily features actor Tommy Flanagan (Sons Of Anarchy) along with the band in the video. The video is a little creepy at times with Tommy inhaling a mystery drug while the band performs int he broken down house.
The track itself sounds like classic Korn with the big groove oriented sound like that of what was heard in Follow The Leader. Jonathan Davis talked about the track saying, “Rotting in Vain’ was written about being in that black place, being in situations that I don’t like in life — be it relationships, or feeling when you’re stuck and you’re just being abused or you don’t like where you’re at, and you just sit there and rot. It takes you years and years to figure out how to claw your way out. That’s where ‘Rotting in Vain’ came from. I’m just sitting there, f—ing dying and letting it happen for years and years and not helping myself to get out of that place. That’s the vibe that inspired the song.” Check out the track below and look for the album on October 21ST.
