As promised, we are giving you your second music video of the week and this time it’s coming from the metal side of life and it’s a good one. I didn’t realize that Thrash Metal Titans Slayer were doing a video trilogy for their latest album Repentless, but if you check out videos for the title track and You Against You it all connects and makes sense. This time around our protagonist played by Jason Trost is forced to make a life and death move all thanks to the turn that the cops take in the video. Danny Trejo (Machete) returns in this video, but for the first time he finds himself being the vulnerable one. Horror icon Bill Moseley also returns for the video which is very cool. Kerry talked about the goretastic trilogy saying, “It was a pleasure working with BJ McDonnell, director on this project. Slayer is notorious for letting the artist be the artist, the producer be the producer, and the director be the director, etc. By doing this we get a completely unique perspective that never really strays far from our own. Get ready for video three. It’s my favorite!!” BJ McDonnell also commented on it saying, “I’m particularly excited about this third video because we played with stylistic differences with the trilogy. Where one video plays like an action film, this third one is more of a dramatic piece. The final story takes us into a world that is especially sinister in tone, with the dark and the light colliding. The conclusion is visually cinematic and harsh, with Slayer conducting us through it all with ‘Pride in Prejudice.” Check it out below:
