Two months ago, we heard the single Limerant Death from everyone’s favorite Math rock outfit The Dillinger Escape Plan. Now that the band has announced that they will disband after the cycle for the release of their upcoming album Dissociation, they have unleashed another single for all of us to hear, but this one is a little different. The track is called Symptom of Terminal Illness and you can immediately tell the difference between this and the previous single. The band definitely broadened their horizons for this track and I love it. I love Greg Puciato’s vocals on this track because it features his nasally toned vocals that drive the song forward and it fits the tone of the track. As the song moves forward, it gains momentum and intensity while also featuring beautiful riffs at the same time. Ben Weinman talked about the album as a whole saying, “Dissociation represents the splitting of a molecule into smaller molecules, atoms, or ions, breaking bonds to release energy. Over the past two decades, this band has given me and my bandmates, both collectively and individually, the opportunity to experience the world in a way most could never imagine. This album is a celebration of that experience and the energy it has produced.” Check out the track below and check out the pre-orders here:
