gal-Gadot-Wonder-Woman-movie-June-2017The most anticipated film from Warner Brothers and DC Comics is most definitely the film Wonder Woman which stars Gal Gadot (Fast & Furious) as the Amazonian title character that officially hits theaters later today. With the release of the film, DC Comics because the first entity in this war of comic worlds to release a film where the lead character is a woman. A risky endeavor for the company who has been falling behind, but a very bold one. The film is a flashback into how Diana Prince became Wonder Woman from her early life in Themyscira to the day English spy Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) lands in the ocean near the island. You see she live son an island that is surrounded by Amazonian women as a way to protect them from Aries the God of war. The very fact that Steve lands there threatens their everyday life, but Diana can not stand by while war is occurring in an entirely different world then she knows. Diana and the others have a duty to protect all mankind from evil and war so she sets off to destroy Aries before World War I gets too out of hand. The film also stars Connie Nielsen (One Hour Photo) as Hippolyta, Robin Wright (The Princess Bride) as Antiope, Danny Huston (21 Grams) as Ludendorff, David Thewlis (Naked) as Sir Patrick, Saïd Taghmaoui (American Hustle) as Sameer, Ewen Bremner (Trainspotting) as Charlie, Eugene Brave Rock (The Revenant) as The Chief, Elena Anaya (The Skin I Live In) as Dr. Maru, and the film was directed by Patty Jenkins (Monster).

wonder-woman-2017-56Spoiler Alert: There is going to be some information leaked in this article that could give away some details or all the details in the film. So either proceed with caution or do not read any further, but you were warned. I do not know how else to express how joyful I am in the fact that I may have just seen the best film of the year and the best Superhero film of the year. Am I bold in saying that Patty Jenkins may be the savior of DC’s Cinematic Universe? Or was she just the first step in correcting the wrongs of the past couple of years in the minds and hearts of fans? I am just sad that it took 76 years just for Wonder Woman to finally have her moment to shine on the silver screen because this was a masterpiece.  It had it all from a powerful and excellent script, great cinematography, and it had absolutely no filler and it didn’t struggle with an origin story as Marvel did with the first Captain America film. Not to mention that Gal Gadot displayed courage, passion, beauty, and strength in the role of Wonder Woman and not to mention she was excellent in the film as was Pine and everyone I mentioned above. If you’re worried about the acting in the film, then I suggest you put the worries aside. It had great acting, suspense, and it has humor in the film which was a nice addition. This was by far one of my favorite films that DC has done now and in it’s history. It proved that a woman could be a strong lead and it proved that they were miles ahead of Marvel in that department. I am going to give the film an A++ for a final grade because it deserves it and then some.
