war of the covers ballroom blitzWe are about to turn things up here on Moshpits and Movies with this week’s War Of The Covers, but before we do that let’s check out last week’s results. Last week we had guitar virtuoso Yngwie Malmsteen take on Testament to see who covered the Scorpions The Sails Of Charon and unfortunately the tab was paid and Testament is being sent to Hades in the afterlife as Yngwie held on to win by a vote. 1970’s glam rock act Sweet has been the jam lately for me with their track Fox On The Run being included in the Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 soundtrack and just the other day I was watching Wayne’s World when a cover of their classic The Ballroom Blitz was featured in the film. So for this week’s War Of The Covers, I decided that The Ballroom Blitz would be at the center of attention this week. The only question going in was who were the bands I was going to choose for this and I have the answer for you and it’s another triple threat match. In 1984, Swiss heavy metal act Krokus would release a cover of the song on their album The Blitz. In 1991, thrash metal band Nuclear Assault would record and release the cover on their album Out Of Order. In 1992 as part of the Wayne’s World Soundtrack, Tia Carrere would release a version of the track that featured her “band” Crucial Taunt that featured Marc Ferrari, George Foster, and Anthony Focx. Remember only one version can win this and it’s up to you to decide who wins. You have until the next War Of The Covers post to decide who wins so choose carefully!
