War Of The Covers Sound Of SilenceIt’s been a couple of week since the last War Of The Covers that we did, but we are returning with a very good one this week. At one point, I did a cover of the week post here on the blog that got a lot of buzz because of the fact that it was a great cover by a great and underrated band. The cover was that of Simon & Garfunkel’s 1964 hit The Sound Of Silence by West Virginia rock band Bobaflex who covered the track for their 2011 album Hell In My Heart. One of the things I noticed that fans were saying was that they were comparing it to a version done by another band that goes by the name of Disturbed who released it on their 2015 Immortalized album. It always lingered in the back of my mind as to which version was better and who knew a folk song was going to garner so much buzz in the rock and metal world? Both versions of the song are amazing, but only one can come out of this as a winner and it’s up to you to decide and this is the place to do it. As always, you have until the next War of The Covers to decide on whose version you fancy more and have fun with it.
