DC-comics-DCeased-2-Yasmin-Putri-horror-variant-coverThere are a lot of great issues that came out this week especially if you are continuing with certain series, but my excitement for today was a certain book. Last month, DC Comics released DCeased which follows the war with Darkseid which the Justice League believes it had won. What if though that was all part of a bigger plan that the planet won’t even know what hit them? In the previous issue, Darkseid with the help of Cyborg releases a virus that attacks through all forms of social media and technology turning all of the world into zombie like creatures. Now Superman and co. are left wondering how they are going to battle this. Tom Taylor (All-New Wolverine) returns to the second issue to write and Trevor Hairsine (Bloodshot) returns to draw along with Stefano Guadiano (Immortal Iron Fist). In this issue, everyone is stunned by the events of what has happened like Aquaman and even The Green Arrow who just had to put down Hal Jordan before Jordan killed them. All Harley Quinn wants to do is end things with The Joker and move on with poison Ivy, but it’s not that simple. Batman was bitten in the last issue and he has to make the ultimate sacrifice before it’s too late. Check out the comic book everywhere comic books are sold.

LF8mPqyYAt first, I wasn’t sure if I was really in love with the series or was the fact that Yasmine Putri’s covers are amazing that is clouding my judgment. This issue as you can see above is the A Nightmare On Elm Street parody cover and it kicks ass. However, as far as the comic book is concerned, I have been enjoying it, but the real question is what is the overall payoff because we see most of our superheroes going. When the sixth issue comes out, the question will be was the payoff worth it and with the action coming the way it is, I think it will be. The question will also remain, how will Darkseid play into this comic book later on? I know one major complaint with the comic can be that the dialogue can be a little clunky at times, but other times I don’t mind it. I think the artwork is pretty good even though some people I know had a complaint when it came to Darkseid in the last issue. I am definitely a huge fan of the artwork in this issue and in the last issue, but everyone has different taste. Check it out for yourselves and check out my grades below:

Story/Plot: A
