unnamedIf you are a movie lover and you thought that the last What If… was fun then wait until you check out today’s idea. There have been so many great films that have come out in the last 20 years or so with so many of today’s stars, but thanks to Nerdist.com something has been brought to my attention. Nerdist presented an idea that was brought to the limelight thanks to New York illustrator Peter Stults who also dabbles in the idea of what ifs on his own site. He presented the idea of what if some of today’s films that are so popular starred classic actors and actresses of the past. I am talking about films like Terminator 2: Judgement Day, Iron Man, The Shape Of Water, Hellboy, Dune, Trainspotting, and so many more amazing ideas. I mean could you have imagined if Trainspotting starred actors like Anthony Hopkins, Terence Stamp, Michael Caine, Julie Christie, and Ian Holm as Begbie? It might have been an excellent film, but that is up to us to imagine hence why this is called What If. Could you have imagined Paul Newman as Tony Stark in Iron Man? He might not have done it with the same charisma as Robert Downey Jr, but it might have been cool to see. I want to thank Peter with presenting some amazing ideas and while you check out some of them below, don’t forget to visit his site for even more amazing stuff.

One of my favorite segments that I used to do on this blog some time ago is the What If… posts. It was a post that was meant to suspend reality and imagine if something was real or the norm. We’ve done What Ifs that made you imagine what it would have looked like if certain titles came out on VHS. I had another What If that imagined horror icons as beach models or just models in general. It’s just a fun little segment to help us suspend our beliefs even if only for a few minutes which brings me to today’s What If. Today’s What If is our tenth one that we have done overall and today we imagine horror films as a popular teen book line of the 90’s. I am sure anyone that grew up in the 1990’s remembers how Iconic R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps books were because I would get as many as I could at the school book fair. Now, let’s imagine what if some of your favorite horror films like Halloween, Child’s Play, The Thing, The Exorcist, A Nightmare On Elm Street, and so much more were Goosebumps books. That is exactly what horror fan Cam (@maskman93) did when he posted them on his Instagram page. Cam did such a bad ass job making thebooks look so believable. If you didn’t know any better you might think that these were the actual books. I am only presenting three of them to you guys because if you want to see any more then click on his username in the paragraph and check out the rest.

It has been quite some time since the last What If and for those of you that do not know what this is I will explain it to you. What If is taking things like bands, movies, or characters and imagining them differently. Like what if monsters of rock was an 8-bit game or what if The Garbage Pail Kids were all grown up, what would they look like? It’s time that you can sit back an suspend belief for a moment. For today’s What If which is called What If… Part Nine: Slasher Pinups, we have bloody-disgusting.com to thank for our latest post. What you are about to see maybe disturbing to some, but what if you’re favorite horror slashers and other horror characters were pinup models? Karl Von Frankenstein is a London based artist who thought up of this really cool idea in the series he called Horror Pin-Ups. If you want to check out more from him, please visit his Facebook page here. Otherwise marvel int he work he presented to us below which includes Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, Street Trash, and the Freddy Krueger one kind of creeps me out a little bit for some reason.

Monsters Of Rock BitEarlier in the year, I was blown away by the presentation of The Big Four in 8-Bit Nintendo style music that I posted it in the What If section (you can see that one here). Now I have another amazing video to show all of you for What If… Part 8: Monsters Of Rock in 8-Bit. Loudwire and Filthy Frackers created the last 8-Bit video that we all enjoyed and they teamed up once again to create another awesome 8-Bit video that features the likes of Motley Crue, Guns N Roses, Def Leppard, Quiet Riot, and Twisted Sister. The video is so awesome because it blends elements that are so iconic with the song and the band plus with Nintendo/video game characters. You’ll hear the Guns N Roses classic Welcome To The Jungle in 8-bit, Motley Crue’s Girls, Girls, Girls in 8-Bit, Twisted Sisters iconic video and song for We’re Not Gonna Take It in 8-bit, as well as Pour Some Sugar On Me (Def Leppard), and Metal Health (Bang Your Head) (Quiet Riot) all in 8-bit. You have to check it out below and let’s hope for more 8-bit awesomeness from Loudwire and Filthy Frackers cause this is the video game that never happened.

We have a very unique What If for all of you today which is slowly becoming one of my favorite things to post because I love imagining things if they were different or what they would look like if something was changed. We’ve had some really cool What Ifs (six to be exact) and we have something even better for all of you for What If… Part 7 which takes a look at what the Garbage Pail Kids would look like 30 years later. In 1985, Topps Trading Cards released The Garbage Pail Kids which was their way of poking fun at the very popular Cabbage Pail Kids. They created an iconic series which even inspired a film that we covered for Cheeseball Cinema (which can be viewed here).  Well two friends by the names of Jake Houvenagle and Brandon Voges got together one day and discussed their love for the old series. They decided to do a photoshoot where they re-imagined what the Garbage Pail Kids would look like thirty years after their release and the results are cool as hell. To view more of the project and the special behind the scenes pics they show you, go here. Next to each pic is going to be a story that the two friends give with each pic, so enjoy this What If.

1The first one up for the guys is Clogged Duane: Who would have thought that a child who suffered such a traumatic, life-threatening experience would grow up to be the regional manager of a drain clearing and plumbing business? Plumb Nutz was ranked in the top 900 businesses of Fairfax County (East division) and Duane has been helping people remove all sorts of goodies from choked pipes for the last 22 years. His horrible accident left him with a set of thin and flexible appendages which he now uses to snake through clogged drains, and, by tickling his toes, remove the culprits.

2The next guy up is one of my personal favorites in Adam BombAs a small child, Adam had no idea how much of an impact pressing that button would have on his life (and everyone else’s). He’s had to live with that horrible, juvenile decision for his entire life, in this wasteland that he created. He lost everyone and everything, and was the only one that survived the destruction. It’s been the source of major depression throughout his life (and his head). Although that dented head has healed, his heart has remained a wasteland.

3The next one up is every ones favorite unkempt and unattractive Armpit BrittBritt is the poster child for growing up tough. Her pit hair started growing early, and fast. Shaving did nothing, and as a poor family they had no money for laser treatment or waxing. She lived in a trailer with seven other extended family members, one of them being a touchy uncle who loved fondling her armpit hair. She turned to drugs at an early age. By 15, she had been to jail and rehab more times than the number of pit dreads under her arms. Britt turned things around the best she could, and now sober, she provides for her five kids working steadily at two jobs at the local truck stop and corner liquor store.

4The next one on the list the always terrifying and unique Bony Tony who uses his unique ability to his advantage: Tony did pretty well with the ladies in high school. They always wanted to get “under his skin,” curious what would be hiding under that zipper. In college, Tony partied hard, eventually dropped out, never to return. He was good with his hands, but unable to hold down a construction gig or any of the local assembly line jobs because of the safety concerns related to his loose skin. Tony decided he had a real gift, and took it to the stage. He has been headlining a low end Chippendales knock off in old town Vegas for the last 14 years.

5This is our last one because you’ll have to check out the other one on their site that I provided in the first paragraph. What we have for you is the oddity known as Noah BodyNoah has become known for that optimistic smile. Born with no body, his options were limited. To survive, he begged for change in exchange for pencils. He spent most of his childhood homeless, but always had that smile. He knew he was destined for bigger things, body or not. With that smile and charm he worked his way from being homeless on the tough streets of New York, to being the founder and owner of Pencil Club, a monthly pencil delivery service that has 20,000 employees and is the #1 pencil retailer in 42 countries. A fun Noah fact: He now owns the high-rise office building that he once begged in front of.

The article title can be a little deceiving, but we are giving you a double shot off what if’s today as we explore What If… Part 6: Metal Goes Jazz. This is one of of my favorite types of What If’s because they take an album cover and they retro it which sometimes looks cooler than the original. Rafael Melandi is a Brazilian designer who is also the Creative Director at the São Paulo agency Opera Communications. He recently did a project on his own that he calls Metazz which sees him take classic metal album covers and he gives the album covers the high modern styled look that was associated with mid century jazz album artwork. To check out some of those on your own, just click here. You are going to be surprised at how some of them actually work really well as I loved the look of some of them. I’m not saying that they could forever replace the original album artwork, but they’re cool looking.

We have all looked at some of the most iconic metal albums and just sat there an wondered what was going on for hours on end. We would sometimes make up stories to go along with the artwork on the album covers because some of them are that iconic. Well, now you don’t have to wonder for any longer or you can for just a little longer as Flicker user Harvezt presents to us the dark side of the covers. It’s a look at the other side of the covers like what is Eddie in the Iron Maiden album Killers looking at or what is on the other side of the Abbey Road cover? Check them out below and click on his name for other covers.
