hate_me_escape_the_fate_albumAs promised we always give you two music videos of the week and this week’s is a contender. I have always loved music videos that were well thought out and well executed and Escape The Fate has always been one of those bands that has been able to do that time and time again. The band still touring right now on their fifth studio album Hate Me which was released last year has unveiled a powerful music video for their track Breaking Me Down which in of itself is an amazing track. The video whose treatment was co-written by Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach balances through the performance based side of the video with the story itself of a boy who is taking care of his mother who apparently has given up on life. There are a couple of things I wanted to talk about in the video and that is there is a scene where guitarist Kevin Gruft twirls the guitar around his neck like how Eric Brittingham of Cinderella used to. I am a sucker for guitar tricks. The other thing I liked in the video was the nod to Slash and his desert guitar solo moment in November Rain done in this video by Gruft again.

escape-the-fateSinger Craig Mabbitt talked about the video saying, “We hope you enjoy this video as much as we enjoyed shooting it. It is an important message you should not only hear but listen to. Shout out to Jacoby for his contribution to this song. Thank you all for your continued love and support of our music. We will see you on the road.” Starting November 10TH, you can catch the band on the road with Nonpoint on the Hate Poison Tour with supporting acts Get Scared, Failure Anthem and Through Fire and get all the info on that here. Check out the amazing video to the song below:

Is there a point in a band’s career when we stop calling them a supergroup and just call them a band? That could definitely be the case for this week’s band that is featured on Music Video Of The Week in Texas groove metal titans Hellyeah. The band is celebrating their tenth anniversary of being together this year with a new album and despite some member changes I would say ten years is a solid amount of time to think that maybe these guys are not going anywhere. The band is releasing their fifth album on June 3RD called Unden!able and they are releasing it via Eleven Seven Music. The band has also unleashed a brand new music video for their track Human and it’s mostly a performance based video with the band in a very dark and lightly lit warehouse. The feel and look  of the music video definitely matches the emotion that Chad Gray is pouring into his lyrics. It’s one hell of a track and I love the new look Chad Gray is sporting with the dreads. Check out the album when it’s released and see the band on tour right now as they headline the We’re All in This Together Tour with Escape The Fate, New Year’s Day, and From Ashes To New.

I never thought in my whole life that I would cover an article that had anything to do with Justin Bieber, but today is the day that I did. I love cover songs just as much as the next guy, but sometimes bands cover the same old songs from the same artists that you just need something different. Well, Escape The Fate provide you with that something different in the form of an acoustic cover of Justin Bieber’s Love Yourself. The band has been touring for their new record Hate Me and they thought it would be cool to add a special performance for their shows so they covered the Justin Bieber track. The track is actually really good, but don’t worry the band isn’t selling out or anything. As far as the new album is concerned, frontman Craig Mabbitt told Loudwire.com, “We’ve been through everything that would usually break up a band and we’ve stuck it out. We’re still here and our fans are still there. There’s not a greater feeling in the world than that. And so, going into it we are just so happy that we saw the opportunity to be here and do this because it’s very rare that you get this. And we’re just trying to live it up. And the fact that our fans have been there supporting us through it all and they’re still here now, to make them excited and please them is obviously what everybody’s goal is when you’re creating something like that.”

Back in 2010, Las Vegas Post Hardcore/Metalcore band Escape The Fate released their breakthrough self titled album with Craig Mabbitt on Vocals. The album featured a lot of hits for the band, but for today’s single of the week I chose to cover the track Zombie Dance considering we are in observance of the great holiday Halloween. The song was co-written with Orgy frontman Jay Gordon and it has that Orgy feel to it a little bit. It has a very upbeat feel to the tempo while Mabbitt sings what sounds like a zombie love song. According to Wikipedia, “On the track “Zombie Dance”, Mabbitt described the recording process and that he recorded five layers of vocal harmony for the final mix in addition to little sound effects. He explained it was difficult to achieve the high harmonies and right pitches right for all of the tracks.” It’s definitely a track that I enjoy off the record and you should check it out below:
