Fox-Disney-700x300One of the biggest megadeals was pulled off three days ago after much speculation that the Walt Disney Company was inquiring about purchasing some assets from Rupert Murdoch and his company Fox. Disney paid them 52.4 billion which means that the company that owns Star Wars, Marvel, ESPN, ABC, will now acquire 21ST Century Fox which includes 20TH Century Fox, 20TH Century Fox Television, any Fox owned cable networks (FX and National Geographic), as well as Fox’s 30 percent share in HULU. While the deal may seem insane, it is a huge power move for Disney who is essentially number one in films, but it powers them up with the number three company in film in Fox. Now if you need me to spell out what the company now owns, let me do that for you then. The company now owns the Alien franchise, Predator, The Fantastic Four, X-Men, Deadpool, Avatar, Ice Age, the Planet Of The Apes reboots, The Simpsons, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, How I Met Your Mother, FuturamaFirefly, and The X-Files. That is just the tip of the iceberg that the company now owns as they get ready to develop their own streaming service for the public.

thumb-1920-618647Now what I am most excited about when it comes to this deal are the possibilities as far as the MCU is concerned. They have already promised that Deadpool 2 would remain rated R, but just imagine what they can do moving forward with Phase 4 of the MCU. We know that Spider-Man 2 and Guardians Of The Galaxy 3 will be Phase four films, but there is not that much else that we do know and what a better time to add the X-Men and the Fantastic Four to the mix. Just think of all the characters that they will have access to moving forward and what kind of story lines that they’ll be able to explore as well. We have seen through three phases that the big boss villain at the end of it has been Thanos we get to fully meet him in 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War, but who is going to be that big boss villain moving forward after that? If you ask me, the next possible villain for it all could be the one and only true eater of worlds in Galactus. We could also stars introducing villains like Kang The Conqueror, Namor, and even some X-Men villains like Mister Sinister, Apocalypse (or at least do him justice), and Omega Red to name a few. As you can tell I am pretty excited for that aspect of the merger and the fact that all of the Xenomorphs are now Disney Princesses too. It remains to be seen what they will do with all this property and what the current films coming out will mean for Marvel (New Mutants and Dark Phoenix). Stay tuned and we will try to keep you updated!

1930228_10207278460853390_9099499689539595186_nThis is not a joke, I repeat this is not a joke. You do not have to pinch yourself or tell yourself that it’s all a dream because the one and only Spider-Man is here. If you have not see the new trailer for Captain America: Civil War then you did not see the appearance of Spider-Man and what team he is on. We knew that Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, Falcon, The Winter Soldier, and Ant-Man were team Captain America while Vision, Black Widow, War Machine, and Black Panther were team Iron Man, but what team was Spider-Man going to be on? Well by the looks of the picture above, I think it’s safe to say that he is Team Iron Man as well. Check out the trailer below:

Speaking of other trailers that were recently released, The Lonely Island, everyone’s favorite SNL group has a new film coming out called Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping. The film apparently follows Connor4Real (Andy Samberg) and his apparent career tailspin right on screen. The film looks hilarious and it has so many cool stars and it looks like it has a lot of awesome cameos as well. Check out the trailer below:

'Celebrity Big Brother' TV show, Elstree Studios, Hertfordshire, Britain - 12 Sep 2014

In some Cheeseball Cinema related news, SYFY has announced that they will be coming out with Sharknado 4. The network also announced some of the new cast members which will include Gary Busey (he’ll play Tara Reid’s dad), Tommy Davidson (In Living Color), Cody Linley (Hannah Montana), Imani Hakim (Everybody Hates Chris) and Masiela Lusha (George Lopez). David Hasselhoff will apparently return as Finn’s dad and Cheryl Tiegs will join the cast and play Finn’s mom. The film doesn’t officially have a title yet, but it will premiere in July on SYFY. Stay tuned for more info as it becomes available to us.

One of the things I wish Disney and Marvel would do in the future would be to make a Howard The Duck film because I love the character. The film that was released in 1986 with Lea Thompson (who actually sang on the tracks), Tim Robbins, and Jeffrey Jones gets a lot of crap for being “Cheesy”, but this is one of my favorite movies from my childhood. Yes it has it cheesy moments, but that is what was fun about it. Anyways for today’s Soundtrack Saturday songs, I chose the title track that was written by Thomas Dolby and George Clinton and performed by Dolby’s Cube. Dolby’s Cube was basically a group of musicians that Thomas Dolby would perform with and Lea Thompson performs the vocals on the track with Joe Walsh performing the guitars. The song is catchy and features all the elements of what made the 80’s so great with keyboards, synthesizers, and catchy power chords. Check it out below and rock out with Howard The Duck!!!

civilwarheaderSince Marvel’s Avengers: Age Of Ultron has now come and gone, we are just awaiting what the future will hold for the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). We know that Ant-Man is coming this summer, but what about all the other films for Marvel’s Phase 3? Well, Marvel has announced who is going to be starring in Captain America: Civil War and thanks to we have who it is right here. Here is what they report, “Set for release in the United States on May 6, 2016, Captain America: Civil War is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo (Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, “Community”) from a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely (Captain America: The Winter Solider, Marvel’s Captain America: The First Avenger). The film returns Chris Evans as the iconic Super Hero character Steve Rogers/Captain America along with Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Falcon, Paul Bettany as The Vision, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye, Don Cheadle as Jim Rhodes/War Machine and Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch. After his debut in Marvel’s Ant-Man on July 17, 2015, Paul Rudd will make his first appearance alongside the Avengers as Scott Lang/Ant-Man in Captain America: Civil War. The cast of the film also includes Chadwick Boseman (42, Get on Up) as T’Challa/Black Panther, Emily VanCamp (“Revenge”) as Sharon Carter/Agent 13, Daniel Brühl (Inglourious Basterds, Bourne Ultimatum) as Baron Helmut Zemo, Frank Grillo as Brock Rumlow/Crossbones, William Hurt (Marvel’s The Incredible Hulk) as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross and Martin Freeman (The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.).” There’s also a rumor that the new Spider-Man will also appear in the film, but stay tuned here for more info as it becomes available.

HatefulEightBannerIf you’re a fan of Quentin Tarantino’s work like Django Unchained then you are going to be excited for this little piece of news that I have for you right here. While they have been filming the new Tarantino film The Hateful Eight, the cast of the film is on the newest issue of Entertainment Weekly. Samuel L. Jackson, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Kurt Russell are on the cover of the issue and you have to check out the stache that Kurt Russell has for the film. Other than that, here is what Tarantino told Entertainment Weekly, “For me it has more of a western ‘Iceman Cometh’ kind of vibe about it. A bunch of guys in a room who can’t trust each other. That wasn’t a marching order when I sat down to write the script, but pretty quickly I realized this is kind of a nice coming-full-circle.” Walton Goggins, Demian Bichir, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern and Channing Tatum (who has a minor role in the film). Here’s a synopsis of the film according to, “In The Hateful Eight, set six or eight or twelve years after the Civil War, a stagecoach hurtles through the wintry Wyoming landscape. The passengers, bounty hunter John Ruth (Russell) and his fugitive Daisy Domergue (Leigh), race towards the town of Red Rock where Ruth, known in these parts as “The Hangman,” will bring Domergue to justice. Along the road, they encounter two strangers: Major Marquis Warren (Jackson), a black former union soldier turned infamous bounty hunter, and Chris Mannix (Goggins), a southern renegade who claims to be the town’s new Sheriff. Losing their lead on the blizzard, Ruth, Domergue, Warren and Mannix seek refuge at Minnie’s Haberdashery, a stagecoach stopover on a mountain pass. When they arrive at Minnie’s, they are greeted not by the proprietor but by four unfamiliar faces. Bob (Bichir), who’s taking care of Minnie’s while she’s visiting her mother, is holed up with Oswaldo Mobray (Roth), the hangman of Red Rock, cow-puncher Joe Gage (Madsen), and Confederate General Sanford Smithers (Dern). As the storm overtakes the mountainside stopover, our eight travelers come to learn they may not make it to Red Rock after all…” Check out the cover below:

I am actually shocked that someone actual did a remake of one of the most classic films of all time. There should be a list of films that should be deemed untouchable because of the fact that there was nothing wrong with them in the first place. Well, apparently is more of a reboot or something of that nature as National Lampoon presents Vacation. The film stars Ed Helms as a grown up Rusty Griswold who wants to continue his father’s tradition so he decides to take his wife (Christina Applegate) and his two sons James (Skyler Gisondo) and Kevin (Steele Stebbins) on a cross country trip to Wally World as it will be closing down forever. I assume that Chevy Chase is going to be making some sort of cameo in the film and the film also stars Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Charlie Day (Horrible Bosses). Check out the red band trailer below and check out Chris Hemsworth’s part in it:

marvelstudioseventsmall9More Marvel News for all of you as it pertains to the films that will close out Marvel’s Phase Three in Avengers: Infinity Wars Parts 1 and 2. The film is going to be in production for nine months and Joe and Anthony Russo, who are also directing Captain America: Civil War, announced that the film will be shot entirely using IMAX and ARRI’s next generation revolutionary 2D digital camera according to The Russo brothers talked about it stating, “The intent with the Infinity War films is to bring ten years of accumulative storytelling to an incredible climax. We felt that the best way to exploit the scale and scope required to close out the final chapter of these three phases, was to be the first films shot entirely on the IMAX/ARRI Digital camera.” Senior Executive Vice President, IMAX Corp. and CEO of IMAX Entertainment Greg Foster also spoke about the announcement stating, “Over the years, IMAX has had the incredible good fortune to work with some of the world’s finest, most talented filmmakers, who continue to push the envelope both technically and creatively. We could not be more excited to deepen our partnership with Joe and Anthony Russo, a pair of filmmakers we believe are next-generation trailblazers. Marvel’s Avengers franchise has become a global phenomenon and to have it pay off in this epic way using the IMAX/ARRI digital camera is the very definition of event movie-going.” Part opens in Imax on May 4, 2018 while part 2 will open n May 3, 2019 so stay tuned here for more info as it becomes available.

Avengers Age Of UltronI am going to warn you that if you were not one of the lucky ones to see the film Avengers: Age Of Ultron in the opening weekend and if you do not want any spoilers, then you need to stop reading the article because there may be spoiler alerts. For Super Sunday, we wanted to continue with one of the most anticipated films of this year if you are into the comic book movie scene with the Avengers: Age Of Ultron film that sees our supergroup of heroes Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) in a battle that they never dreamed of as they take on the artificial program created by Stark and Banner called Ultron (James Spader). After a retrieval mission for the Loki’s Tesseract Septor, Stark gets the wild idea of creating an A.I. program to shield the world, but what he didn’t expect was that it was going to turn against him to destroy the world. Now, the Avengers have to stop him before it’s too late, but it could be a mission that they may not comeback from. The film also stars Elizabeth Olsen (Godzilla) as Scarlet Witch, Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick Ass) as Quicksilver, Samuel L. Jackson (Goodfellas) as Nick Fury, Don Cheadle (Hotel Rwanda) as War Machine, Paul Bettany (Priest) as Vision/Jarvis, Anthony Mackie (Pain & Gain) as The Falcon, and the film was directed by Joss Whedon (Avengers).

visionWhat can I say about the film that probably is’t going to be said other than you need to get your behinds to the theaters to check out the film as soon as possible because it’s well worth it. Joss Whedon does an excellent job of mixing comedy with the drama in the film much like he did in the first film, but he turns it up to 11 in this film and its simply masterful. The interactions between our heroes and sometimes the villains are priceless and very hysterical. First, I want to say that James Spader does an excellent job as Ultron and while I liked the combo of Taylor-Johnson and Olsen (they played husband and wife in Godzilla) who play the twins Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, their accents were a little weak as you can tell they were struggling with it. One thing I will also say about the film is that this was Jeremy Renner’s shot to shine as Hawkeye had a lot of screen time and it was awesome. What the movie does do is that it sets up the films that will follow as Whedon gives you clues to Marvel’s Phase three films that are still to come especially as to which Avenger will meet his untimely death in the future. Nevertheless, they keep turning up the heat and they keep lifting the bar that I don’t know how DC is going to bounce back considering they took a whole year off. There is plenty of action, drama, and a new relationship that hangs in the balance, so go out and see the film. I am giving Avengers: Age Of Ultron an A+ for a final grade.

iron-man-3For this week’s Super Sunday film, we are heading back into the Marvel Cinematic Universe because Avengers: Age Of Ultron is less than a week away. So, we decided to review the last film that was made in the Iron Man realm as we tackle Iron Man 3. In the timeline of events, the world now knows who Iron Man really is thanks to the attack on New York City by Loki and the alien forces. The only problem is that Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) hasn’t been handling what happened very well as he is now the victim of anxiety attacks. Though, something else is about to happen that rocks Stark’s world. A new and formidable opponent known only to the world as the Mandarin (Ben Kingsley) is causing enough damage that it sets Stark on a quest of rebuilding and retribution. The film also stars Gwyneth Paltrow (Iron Man) as Pepper, Jon Favreau (Swingers) as Happy, Guy Pearce (L.A. Confidential) as Aldrich Killian, Rebecca Hall (The Town) as Maya, James Badge Dale (World War Z) as Savin, Paul Bettany (Priest) as Jarvis, William Sadler (Hard To Kill) as President Ellis, Don Cheadle (Hotel Rwanda) as Iron Patriot, Ty Simpkins (Insidious) as Harley Keener, Miguel Ferrer (Robocop) as Vice President Rodriguez, and the film was directed by Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang). The film also features cameos from various news anchors and political analysts like Bill Maher, Josh Elliot, Joan Rivers, Thomas Roberts, George Kotsiopoulos, and more.

iron-man-3-couchIs this my favorite film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Well, I can’t answer that because every time they come out with a film, a better and more bad ass one comes out not too long afterwards. Marvel and Disney have been hitting home runs with all of their films whether it be Iron Man, Avengers, or even the Guardians Of The Galaxy. They are dominating the box office for a reason and what more can you say about the film other than the fact that Robert Downey Jr. is Iron Man. Do you want action well than this film has it. Do you want melodrama well then this film and any of the others are great sources of it. Do you like Robert Downey Jr.’s Charisma then you’ll enjoy every last drop of it in this film as it oozes out of him. I have to say that I also enjoyed seeing Guy Pearce as the villain and the origin story that builds it up is great as well. I cannot wait to see what the future holds when the new Avengers film comes out this Thursday (April 30) because I know it’s going to be epic. I was kind of hoping for an Iron Man 4, but I’ll take whatever we can get out of Robert in any of the films. Robert deserved the award he received at the MTV Movie Awards because he has had the most epic comeback of a career that cultivated with these Marvel films. That is why I am going to give this film an A for a final grade.

We are doing a collection of trailers in one post because we are approaching the time that all of the summer blockbusters and so on will release their trailers for all to see. 2015 is already shaping up to be one of the greatest years in a long time for films with so many antcipated releases coming up like The Avengers: Age Of Ultron, Jurassic World, Mad Max: Fury Road, Ant Man and so many more. I want to share all of the latest trailers with you guys to get you amped up for the big year. So, let’s get started.

The Avengers: Age Of Ultron: There have been a lot of trailers that have been released so far that have revealed the newest member of the team in Vision as well as the debut of the clip of Iron Man vs The Hulk at the MTV Movie Awards last night. The trailer I just watched titled Let’s Finish This just shows you every character in the Avengers during certain situations and further shows you some of the bad ass scenes you can expect. Below that I also have the Iron Man vs Hulk video:

Ant-Man: This is the other Marvel film that is going to be released this year besides the Avengers film that introduces us to the guy who was supposed to be a part of the Avengers in Ant-Man. The trailer introduces us to Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and his protege Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) who becomes Ant-Man and we also get introduced to who his villain is going to be. The trailer has a col scene at the end you should check out that I think is funny.

Terminator: Genisys: To get off of the superhero train and on to one of the greatest franchises to star one of the greatest action heroes of the 80’s in Arnold Schwarzenegger in the new film Terminator: Genisys which some fans feel takes the franchise backwards. Well, the new trailer throws another monkey wrench that I never saw coming as John Connor is trying to kill his mom now. Check it out for yourself:

Mad Max: Fury Road: I am so pumped to see this film in May because it looks so epic and series mastermind George Miller is at the helm which means it’s going to be great. We get to see a little bit more of the guy with the mask and the trailer explains a little more. Check it out below:

San Andreas: The Rock is already having a superstar year as Furious 7 has already grossed more than 800 million worldwide, but he has another film coming out this year. I have to admit that I didn’t really have an interest in seeing San Andreas, the latest disaster flick, but after seeing this trailer with the beautiful Carla Gugino, I might just go and see it.

Sinister 2: The first film was fantastic as I deemed it my surprise hit the year it was released. The idea of the first film which is continued into the sequel was absolutely brillaint and creepy. Well, the Bughuul was creepy as hell and he’s back and more visible his time around. Check out the trailer below as the film is slated for release in August.

Spectre: We treated a couple weeks ago to a teaser trailer from the upcoming Bond film Spectre which promises to be great, but I feel the series has taken a dark turn much like Skyfall did, but I’m not complaining. Check out the teaser trailer below:

Creed: I like the direction they decided to take with the Rocky series as we are going to receive the spin off Creed which finds Rocky training Apollo Creed’s grandson Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan). Check out a photo Sylvester Stallone posted below:

atomic outlawsI’m combining the Rock And Metal post with Film News because why create two separate articles when you can do it once and get it over with. The first piece of news of the day is that Stacey Blades formerly of 80’s rock group LA Guns has started another band in the Las Vegas area. The band is called Atomic Radio and they are a classic rock cover band that according to their Facebook page, “The band plays a raucous set of classic rock spanning from the mid 7-’s to early 80’s performing hits and guilty pleasures from such artists as Aerosmith, Whitesnake, Scorpions, Cheap Trick, Foreigner, The Cars, Def Leppard, and more! Their stage persona and look, mixed with a great choice of radio hits and big album tracks, sets them apart from your typical classic rock cover bands.” The band also features former Candlebox bassist Adam Kury, Johnny Rude (Drums), Jeff C. Outlaw (Guitars/Keyboards), and Michael O’Mara (Vocals). If you want more information on the band, check out their Facebook page here. You can also check out the song Flame on Reverb nation here.

ghostbustersSony Pictures and director Paul Feig have announced the all female cast of the new Ghostbusters film that they planned to make. While they are still under negotiations, they plane to hire Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids), Melissa McCarthy (The Heat), Kate McKinnon (SNL/Life Partners), and Leslie Jones (SNL/House Arrest) which obviously shows you that it’s an SNL heavy cast.  Ivan Reitman is producing an apparently according to some on the internet, Bill Murray is not attached to the project at this time and he may never be. Obviously while they work out the contract negotiations, many will wonder what roles each person will take in the film, but I can imagine Melissa McCarthy playing the Bill Murray character of Dr. Peter Venkman more than any other person named above. So, stay tuned here for more information as it becomes available to us.

In other reboot news and one that I cannot understand for the life of me, but Indiana Jones is going to get the reboot treatment after Disney purchased the rights to the franchise. Apparently, there is a rumor that Guardians Of The Galaxy and the new Jurassic Park star Chris Parks is being rumored to play Indiana Jones in the reboot. While we are not sure if the rumor is true, Deadline is reporting that they are eyeing him for the role and why not? I enjoyed Chris Parks in Guardians Of The Galaxy and The Lego Movie because they were all original ideas. I don’t understand why studios feel the need to reboot films that still stand the test of time. Are you telling me that there are no original ideas left in the world and it’s not like Disney needs it with all the planned films in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). I guess we’ll have to wait to find out more on this.

Finnish Love Metal giants Him announced that they are parting ways with longtime drummer Gas Lipstick after being in the band for 16 long years. Gas has admitted to the media that his heart wasn’t 100% in the band anymore, but the man had to overcome a lot just to get back in. He suffered nerve damage in his hands and arms that took a year of rehab before he could lay down drum tracks for Tears On Tape. It would also see him climb back on the road with the band before stopping at the end of 2014. He released a statement via Facebook and we have it for you here:

With a heavy heart I’m announcing my departure from HIM, a magnificent band that I’ve been part of for the past 16 magical years. It has been a journey that I will remember for the rest of my life. There is no drama, bad blood or any negativity involved in my departure.
I simply feel that it’s time for me to move on as a musician.
I have noticed during the final stages of our last tour that my heart was not in it 100% anymore.
I’ve always been a guy who played every note straight from my heart and I feel the music very strongly while I perform.
If my heart feels that it’s time to let it go, then I have to listen because otherwise it wouldn’t be right towards myself, the rest of the band or you wonderful fans.
It would end up being a forced effort and I can’t perform or create like that.
Another thing that I’ve recently started to miss is songwriting. I’ve always been a songwriter. I didn’t feel the need to write after I joined the band in 1999 and noticed that Ville is a tremendous songwriter. In my mind he has never brought a single half assed song to the practice room. Every song was top notch and I felt that I didn’t have the need to stir the mix. All of his songs were amazing as he presented them. But last fall I’ve started to feel that I’m missing writing again and that I would like to pursue my own musical interests. I started to miss the feeling of being in a band, where I could be one of the songwriters again.
Three years ago, I had a very heavy year with my arm problems and it took a toll on me.
It took me 9 stressful months to get back into playing shape, but after recording the “Tears On Tape” record and performing 100 + live shows following the release of that record, I can safely say that I’m back 100% physically and mentally. Those 9 stressful months were one of the toughest periods I have ever experienced throughout my career and adding everything mentioned above, I feel that I need a change in life. I need a fresh start.
I have nothing but great words to say about my brothers: Ville, Mige, Burton, and Linde, our touring crew Viltsu, Antti, Manne, Sean, Brad and our management Seppo, Taina and Vuokko. I wish them nothing but a great success in the future! They are all amazing people and it has been a pleasure working with them all of these years.
I’d like to as well thank all the record company people, promoters, past crew members, producers and engineers that I’ve had the privilege to get to know and work with. You rock BIG TIME!
And for the last but not the least important I’d like to thank all of you fabulous fans. Thank you for your never ending support and love. HIM has the best fans in the world!
Without you, nothing would’ve been possible.
I hope that our paths will cross again eventually and you can count on that I’m going to keep you posted about my future endeavours in the crazy world of Musicland. Stay tuned!
Cheers, Gas Lipstick.

Him responded to the post as they linked off of it saying, “And now for something completely different: Drummer Gas Lipstick has left HIM after 16 years, saying “It’s time for me to move on as a musician”. Shell-shocked yet determined, HIM are currently investigating different ways to imitate the sound of drums with machines.”

Airbourne-630x420On some really exciting news, Australian Rockers Airbourne are no longer with Roadrunner Records for whom they released their first three albums through and the band has now signed to Spinefarm Records. The band also announced that they were working on their fourth album with a little inspiration from some Kentucky Bourbon and Cola. Check out the photo on their Facebook page here. The band spoke about signing to Spinefarm saying, “We’re pumped up to have signed on the dotted line to the world’s toughest and truest hard rock label, Spinefarm. We have worked with some of the guys on this team in the past, and we’re extremely confident about having each other’s back in the trenches for many hard rockin’ years to come. We’re chompin’ at the bit to get ROCKIN’ and KICKIN’ ARSE in 2015 and beyond.” I’m super exicted for this piece of news as I am a huge fan of Airbourne.

Future User is a weird band that I am having trouble explaining what their sound is, but it’s a combination of electronic sounds with rock, but I don’t think that matters much. I say that because the band has made a name for themselves by disguising their identities and taking shots at issues in America through their music videos. The band took a shot at Waterboarding with special guest John McEnroe in the video for Clockwork, Farming Horrors in Medication Nation, and now they are taking a shot at athletes who have been caught for doping like Lance Armstrong in the video for Mountain Lion through their masked character SWIM. The band did however reveal their identities and the band is made up of former Rage Against The Machine bassist Tom Commerford and guitarist Jordan Tarlow. Tim described the video and inspirations saying, “At the end of the day, the message that we’re trying to get across with this journey that this guy who we call ‘S.W.I.M.’ who is sort of our superhero that we have, that ties everything together. He’s on a journey. It’s entertaining, hopefully, and at the end of the video the real message comes to light. And that is, don’t be distracted by doping in sports and don’t think that doping in sports is actually important enough for presidents to talk about. It’s really not. What’s really important is something like heroin. We’re over there in Afghanistan funding drug lords to grow poppies and now heroin is on the rise here in America on the highest level ever killing people here, incarcerating people here. To me, that’s a real issue.” Everyone remembers Tim for the stunt he pulled at the MTV music video awards some years back, but if you want to check out the video for the song, click here.

napalm deathWho says that love doesn’t happen at metal concerts? Well, a man recently proposed to his girlfriend at a Napalm Death concert on January 27TH when the band was performing at Grand Central in Miami, Florida. Rumor has it that he proposed in between the songs Scum and You Suffer, but Barney Greenway eventually looked at the man and called him out on stage. The man turned to the crowd and said, “I’ll keep this short and sweet. A couple of years ago, this really amazing girl and I made it official here at a Napalm Death show.” He of course would then turn his attention to his girlfriend as he said, “It’s been the happiest I’ve ever been, we’ve moved in together and I dearly love you. Considering we’re at a Napalm Death show, I figured this would be the right time to bring this up, to embarrass you a little bit considering this is our version of a romantic evening together. Now I’m going to ask you, Alexa, will you marry me?” Barney would grab the mic after some congratulations were said and he offered his opinion on it saying, “Well, how do you follow that? Well, the official line is to say that the traditional institute of marriage is a f—ing sham, after all, but good luck to them all the same. As long as you’re doing it for yourselves, that’s all that f—ing matters in my mind.” This gives me hope when something like this can happen at a metal show and all I have to say is good luck to them. To check out the video of it, just click here.

Geezer-Butler-630x420Apparently, the other day while in Death Valley, California Geezer Butler was arrested for misdemeanor assault charges, with public intoxication and vandalism after a fight broke out at The Corkscrew Saloon. Here is what the arrest record reads as, “Shortly after midnight on January 27th Sheriff’s Dispatch received a call regarding a verbal and physical altercation that took place at the Corkscrew Saloon located at the Furnace Creek Ranch property in Death Valley National Park. After the Inyo County Sheriff’s Deputy arrived on scene and interviewed witnesses it was determined that there had been an argument that escalated into a physical confrontation – resulting in an individual being struck, and a broken window. Terence Michael Butler a 65-year old man from Beverly Hills, CA was arrested for misdemeanor assault, public intoxication and vandalism. Butler was booked into the Inyo County Jail and released after detox and citation.” Butler would eventually take to his Twitter page to post a picture of himself and a man that we can’t really make out who it is with a bike saying, “After that little distraction.” It has been noted that Geezer will soon join up with the fellas in Black Sabbath to record what is “going” to be their last album and tour very soon.

I don’t know about you guys, but I am super excited for the final phase 2 films that Marvel is putting out including the one I am previewing today in Ant-Man. Peyton Reed (The Break-Up) is the director for the film that stars Paul Rudd as con man Scott Lang who is trying to help his long time mentor  Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) pull off a heist that will save the world. In order to do so, Scott must wear a suit that shrinks him in size, but it increases his strength. The movie was originally supposed to be the first film in phase 3, but Marvel decided that it would be the last film of phase 2 and Captain America: Civil War would be the first film of nine in Phase 3. The rest of the cast includes Evangeline Lilly, Hayley Atwell, Judy Greer, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, David Dastmalchian, and many more. The teaser trailer looks pretty awesome already and did you see Rudd flying with the ant. This should be really cool, the movie gets released in July 2015, but for now check out the trailer below:

justin linApparently, the saga of the new Star Trek movie which has already lost two directors with Robert Orci being the latest to quit the project while J.J. Abrams was forced to quit due to his commitment to the Star Wars franchise. Paramount Pictures announced that Justin Lin, the man behind four sequels in the Fast And Furious franchise (He directed parts three through six) is taking the helm on the USS Enterprise. The only question at hand is how are fans of the franchise (they are diehards) going to react to the hiring of Lin. David Ellison and Skyline Prods will be producing the film alongside Abrams and Orci, but Paramount has not yet established a release date for Star Trek 3. Stay tuned here for more info as it becomes available to us.

aaApparently, some information may have been released through the recent Sony hacking incident, but it looks like Marvel Comics and Sony Pictures have come to an agreement over the use of Spider-Man in the future. While Marvel is being successful and deep in phase 2 of their Marvel Cinematic Universe, one character was a key factor in the next installment of Captain America and how they want to explore the Civil War story. Spider-Man is a very key figure in that storyline to the point that the two companies have agreed to some terms according to a source of mine. Here is what the two companies agreed to according to, “Sony had negotiated a deal with Marvel to produce the Spider-Man movies and STILL retains the production rights to the Spider-Man films and merchandise that come from it (i.e. Sony keeps profits from the black guy, blue-glowy Electro, but Marvel can keep all the profits from the white guy, yellow and green Electro). But Sony had been stingy with releasing the rights because, well, Sony wants all the money (same goes for 20th Century Fox’s ownership of the X-franchise, but that’s another article).” If this is true we could see something very special in the film so let me explain. Spider-Man apparently is one of the guys that agrees with the act where the public has a right to know the secret identities of the superheroes and he reveals himself to the public and in turn he gets a new modernized suit thanks to Iron Man. I am super excited over this news more than anything else.

Check out this trailer below to a film that is actually going to see the light of day that stars James Franco and Jonah Hill in True Story:
