img9One of the things that I like to do for Eddie’s 31 Days Of Halloween is to actually travel to a movie theater to check out the latest in horror. While the actual amount of horror films coming to a local theater is not a lot this year, there are a few that have attracted my attention and today’s film is definitely one of them. There were two factors in my desire to see the film Hell Fest besides the title. One was for the fact that the poster for the film was amazing and the second was seeing Scream TV series star Bex Taylor-Klaus in the trailer. October is known for a couple of things with one being the holiday Halloween and the other being haunted houses. For Natalie (Amy Forsyth) and her friends, all they want to do is go to Hell Fest and have a good time. Unfortunately for them, a psycho killer decides to turn the amusement park into his own personal playground. The film also stars Reign Edwards (Snowfall) as Brooke, Christian James (Freefall) as Quinn, Matt Mercurio (Getaway) as Asher, Roby Attal (The Long Road Home) as Gavin, Tony Todd (Candyman) as the MC, Michael Tourek (Office Christmas Party) as Security Guard,  Courtney Dietz (Daphne & Velma) as Britney, and the film was directed by Gregory Plotkin (Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension).

fan_hellfest-new-fall2018One thing that I will say about this film is that they have some pretty awesome kills in the film that should please most fans of horror. While Blood Fest (which was released last month) went for a more horror comedy feel, this one tried to be the more serious October slasher flick. They play on that age old mystery of what would happen if a man went around killing people and using them as props for the haunted house. Would you even blink an eye to it and not believe that it wasn’t a prop? The killer in this film has a pretty good idea of what mask he should be wearing at the park and he’s getting away with murder (literally!). It leaves you instantly wondering how many times has this guy done this? One of my favorite kills of the film has to do with those test of strength mallets that you get with the hammer game. The other kill that was intense involves a needle and someone’s eyeball which was unpleasant to watch to say the least. The cinematography for the film was well done especially in some of the settings they had to film in and kudos the stage construction crew for building one hell of a set that the set designers did a great job in imagining. The acting was also well done even though I thought they made Bex’s character a little over the top. If you’re looking to have fun this Halloween, then I definitely say that you should check out this film cause it was fun to watch. That is why, I am going to give the film an B+ for a final grade.

pedalIn December of 2012, I had my very last radio show at Bridgewater State University’s WBIM 91.5 FM station and it was sad because I didn’t know what I was going to do with my future. For two years, I ran the show Pedal To The Metal where I played everything from 80’s Hair Metal to today’s metal and it was a lot of fun. Well, every year for homecoming the radio station hosts an Alumni Takeover where various alumni from over the years come back to rock out for one weekend and your’s truly is one of them. So, for one hour only, I am putting the metal back in the M of WBIM as I take over from 2PM eastern time until 3PM Eastern Time. If you want to listen into the show because maybe you don’t live anywhere near Bridgewater, Massachusetts, you can do so by clicking here. Listen to all of the shows starting at 8AM, but tune into mine especially from 2PM ET until 3PM ET. I may also be doing a special giveaway of the digital copy of Paranormal Activity since the brand new Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension is out in theaters right now. You’ll have to do two things in order to find out with one of them being to listen in and the other to follow me on Twitter @ERaticWanderer. I hope that you guys will be listening in later today to the show to hear some cool metal and get a cool prize (well, you’ll find that out later today).

For only our second movie trailers post, we are going horror style to help promote and observe the great holiday of Halloween. I have a few horror movie trailers for you guys to check out which means I have some that are coming out soon and some we can expect next year.

Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension– I had always wondered where they were going to take this series next and they certainly found a way to make yet another sequel. A guy finds all the VHS tapes and wants to start investigating. He finds a camera that allows you to see the activity so for the first time ever we’ll actually see the ghosts and stuff. It looks pretty decent in my opinion and most likely I will end up seeing this in theaters when it comes out on October 23RD.

The Witch– Ever since I saw the poster for this film, I was instantly intrigued by it and I wanted to know more. It’s set in 1600’s New England as they are torn apart by witchcraft, black magic and other madness. It says 1630 as the year, so I don’t think it’s necessarily in Salem, but just from watching the trailer, this could be a contender for horror film of the year. Expect the film to be released on February 26, 2016.

The Forest– Apparently beneath Mount Fuji, there is a forest that people go to commit suicide so it’s safe to say that it’s a very haunted and messed up place. Natalie Dormer (The Hunger Games) sense that her twin sister is in trouble and finds out that she went to the forest. So, she basically goes after her and you can probably tell what happens next in this story. The film drops January 8, 2016.

Amityville: The Awakening– Most of Hollywood will do whatever it takes to continue to bleed a franchise especially one like The Amityville Horror franchise. A mother moves her kids into a house not knowing it’s haunted and so on and so forth. It’s expects to be released in April 2016.
