1600Everyone’s favorite McDonalds infused Black Sabbath parody band Mac Sabbath is back in the limelight and for very good reason. The band is unleashing a music video for their Paranoid parody track Pair-a-Buns and we have it here as this weeks Music Video Of The Week. The video is cool as flashes back and forth from live action to claymation, but the claymation is what is the cool part of the video. In the claymation, Ronald Osbourne battles all of the fast food chain mascots like KFC’s Colonel Sanders, Hardees star, Jack In The Box, The Burger King, and even the Wendy’s girl in the claymation that was done by Brad Uyeda while the video was directed by Jesus Rivera. While the band may be a joke to some out there in the metal world, there is no denying how clever the band is. People have a tendency to forget that GWAR started out as a joke band and they are still around to this day. Nonetheless, check out the cool video to find out who wins the war. You can also pick up the band’s flexi-disc release of Pair-a-Buns that is featured inside a coloring book here.

Every week in October, we give you at least one Halloween related post whether it be the Music Video Of The Week or Single Of The Week. What we have right here is a little different than what we usually do, but it’s your Halloween related music video of the week. There have been tribute bands for as long as I can remember, but there have never been any like Mac Sabbath,a band that combines fast food culture with Black Sabbath music. The band parodies McDonald’s characters in a way that would make GWAR very proud with amazing costumes. The band is made up of Ronald Osbourne (parody of Ronald McDonald and Ozzy Osbourne) on vocals, Slayer MacCheeze (Its Motorhead meets Mayor McCheese) on guitar, Grimalice (Alice Cooper meets Grimace) on Bass, and the Catburglar (Peter Criss meets the Hamburglar) on drums. We grabbed a live video from Consequence of Sound‘s Youtube page for the band’s track Organic Funeral which is a parody of Black Sabbath’s Electric Funeral. The music is awesome and the lyrics are even better so I have to give the guys kudos for the lyrics. You definitely need to check these guys out as they head out on tour. I will have the tour dates for you guys below, but for now check out the video and check them out on Facebook as well.

incredibad-53d937d7b12daFor this week’s album of the week, I wanted to cover an album from a group that I love watching and listening to especially after I watched Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping. If you haven’t guessed it, I am talking about The Lonely Island which is made up of Saturday Night Live alums Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone. On February 10, 2009, the group released their debut record Incredibad which featured music they had previously featured as skits on Saturday Night Live plus new tracks. The album features collaborations with artists like Julian Casablancas, T-Pain, Natalie Portman, Norah Jones, Jack Black, E-40, Justin Timberlake, and many more.  The album debuted on the Billboard Top 200 Charts at number 13 selling 48,000 in it’s first week while it was also the eighth best selling rap album of 2009 selling 246,000 copies. It also peaked at number 7 on the Billboard Top Rap Albums charts as well. That isn’t bad for a comedy group at all, but it goes to show their popularity on SNL. The album was supposed to feature a song with Adam Levine, but they couldn’t get the clearance for the sample they used from the Aphex Twins. Taccone commented saying, “There were some sample-clearance issues. For that song I sampled…“Avril 14th,” and his publishing company [Chrysalis Music Publishing (ASCAP)] wouldn’t give us the rights. They cleared it for SNL. If we ever make a Best of SNL Shorts DVD, we can put it on there, it can be on repeats of SNL, but it wasn’t cleared for the album. [The company] asked for an outrageous amount of money.”

1. Who Said We’re Wack?– An intro track where the group questions who called them wack. 4/5

2. Santana DVX– a track that the guys talk about Champagne made by Carlos Santana that features E-40 on the track. 4/5

3. Jizz In My Pants– One of the funniest songs on the album about premature ejaculation. 5/5

4. I’m On A Boat– a track that features more profanity than other tracks as the band proclaims they are superior because there on a boat and the track features T-Pain.  5/5

5. Sax Man– Kind of a funky track about a saxophone player they call the Sax Man with Jack Black on the track. The funniest thing is that the Sax Man doesn’t really play his Sax whn Black calls for it.4/5

6. Lazy Sunday– Samberg and Chris Parnell deliver hardcore rap like deliveries on the track about the group wanting to see The Chronicles Of Narnia movie. 4/5

7. Normal Guy (Skit)– a kind of funny interlude with a guy who sounds like Mr. Bill 4/5

8. Boombox– This is one of my favorite tracks on the album featuring Julian Casablancas of The Strokes about a bunch of old people dancing to Samberg’s Boombox. 5/5

9. Shrooms (Skit)- Another skit on the record that sounds like a video game with everyone claiming they are on shrooms. 4/5

10. Like A Boss– This is the groups parody of Slim Thug’s track Like A Boss. 4.5/5

11. We Like Sportz– A track that kind of makes fun of guys who get together to watch sports instead of partying. 4/5

12. Dreamgirl– A track that is all about finding the one and only girl featuring Norah Jones. 4/5

13. Ras Trent– The bands reggae track on the album. Not a fav of mine 3/5

14. Dick In A Box– a funny track about how to give the perfect gift to your girlfriend which is a dick in a box. The track features Justin Timberlake. 5/5

15. The Old Saloon (Skit)– Just another skit that features Old wild west saloon music to a hip hop beat while they repeatedly remind you that they are in a saloon. 4/5

16. Punch You in the Jeans– a  very cool, calm, and collective beat to the track that’s all about punching someone in the jeans because they don’t like the guy’s jeans. 4/5

17. Space Olympics– a track about competing in the space Olympics despite all the problems with hosting an Olympics in space. 4/5

18. Natalie’s Rap– Another favorite of mine on the record that is a parody of Eazy-E’s No More Questions?. It’s a bad ass song that Natalie Portman gets pretty dirty in the track and she was definitely a good sport for doing it. 5/5

19. Incredibad– The title track is the final track on the album and it kicks off with some horns before we get some Beastie Boys style rap. Its basically a biography track for the group. 4/5

My Final Thoughts– These guys are this generations Weird Al Yankovic and even this generations This Is Spinal Tap. This was just the beginning for the trio and you should definitely start here and work your way up to Popstar. I am going to give the album four stars out of five for a final grade.

So, apparently there is some buzz going around for the new HBO documentary about Kurt Cobain entitled Kurt Cobain: Montage Of Heck that was spearheaded by his daughter Frances Bean Cobain and director Bret Morgan. Courtney Love and Frances allowed Bret full freedom to scour through all of their belongings which includes various tapes with one being an audio recording of Cobain talking about the first time he tried to commit suicide all for this documentary. One thing that the director found apparently was a sex tape that Love had made with Kurt and she confirms it saying, “Somehow Brett found the sex tape. Everyone makes one sex tape once in their lives. Eric would come over to our house and shoot really intimate stuff with me and Kurt. That’s just the way Eric is. Let’s move on.” According to Love, the film is, “as close to the truth as anyone’s going to get” and it debuts on HBO on May 4TH.

cornThe genius behind the animated metal cooking show called Cooking Hostile with Phil Anselmo is back with another animated series that is hilarious. Joey Siler is back a new series called Secret Metal Mysteries and it tackles the origin of how Korn got their name. The show is obviously just a parody, but it follows a band called Corn and how their name got ripped off by the Korn we know today and it parodies Korn’s music like the song Blind and Falling Away From Me to name a few. The video also shows you that in order for Jonathan to take down the original band to get rid of them , he enlisted the help of Deftones frontman Chino Moreno.  If you love Metal Parodies then you have to watch this one because it is so awesome. You can check out the video here.

alWhen one thinks of Black Metal, we always associate the genre with Norway and Sweden as well as burning churches and anti-christian beliefs, but now there is a band that is becoming more edgy than any of those bands. In Saudi Arabia, there is a band that is speaking out against Islam which just may be the riskiest thing any band in a region that is 100% Muslim can do. The name of the band is called Al-Namrood and they are speaking out against Islam which by the way is punishable by imprisonment or death in Saudi Arabia and for that reason is also why they are remaining anonymous. That we take risks news service Vice managed to secure an interview with one of the members of the band known as Mephisto. Mephisto describes the band’s name, origin , “Al-Namrood is the Arabic name of the Babylonian king Nimrod, who was a mighty tyrannical king who ruled Babylon with blood and defied the ruler of the universe, according to the tenets of monotheistic religions. We find the title of Al-Namrood to perfectly fit the message of the band.” Which by the way, the band’s name means non believer. He continues, “We’re fed up with religion,” Mesphisto continues. “The fact is that everything that is connected to it makes us nauseous. I personally spoke to a shrink. He advised me that whenever I get inflamed I have to express [what I’m feeling]. So here we are, expressing. What can be more motivating than living in a place where everything is controlled by religion? Basically, individuals here have no rights to do anything. We’re owned by the Islamic sharia. Everything we do must be justified by Islam and acknowledged by society. There are two outrageous powers: religion and our society. They both interact and fulfill each other.” Sadly, the band can not perform live because if they do they could risk the possibility of being put to death.

Five-Finger-Death-Punch-Papa-Roach1In concert news, Five Finger Death Punch and Papa Roach are going to be hitting the road together in the fall, but they are doing things differently as far as where the tour will go. Both bands are leaving it to fans to decide where the routing of the tour will occur as fans are able to visit FFDP’s page here or Papa Roach’s here and vote for your city. The cities with the most votes will move on to each round until the final itinerary is decided. In This Moment and From Ashes To New will be hitting the road with them on that fall tour as well. Papa Roach will continue to support their album F.E.A.R. while Five Finger Death Punch continue to work on their sixth studio album. So, remember visit those pages, let your voices be heard, get those bands to your city.

Charlie-Benante-630x420As most of you know, Big Four member and Thrash titans Anthrax are about to head out on the road with Volbeat, but they’ll be missing a key component for the first couple of weeks. Drumme Charlie Benante is forced to miss the first couple of weeks of the tour due to issues of Carpal Tunnel syndrome resurfacing and he is undergoing physical therapy to help with the issue and so Jon Dette will be playing in his place. Charlie issued a statement saying, “This was a difficult decision to make especially as I had to miss dates on the last cycle because of my hand surgery. But the fact is, playing a show five or more times a week just isn’t realistic right now, I found that out when we were making our new album, and I don’t want to let the fans down by not being able to give it everything I have at every show. I was driving the other day and my hand went numb, so unfortunately, it’s just not 100 percent yet. I figure I can play for maybe three weeks at a time but then I have to let it rest. The guys in the band have been incredibly understanding and supportive, and I hope the fans will be as well. The positive side is that I plan to use the time off the road constructively and focus on our upcoming album, continue to work on the package artwork and develop a number of other ideas I’ve got for the campaign.” We just hope that Charlie will be okay and behind the kit in no time. hail santaI think I missed the memo because so many parodies of Christmas songs are turning up on the internet and a lot of these parodies are amazing. Yesterday on Countdown To Christmas, we had a parody of Black Metal legends Immortal turned into the Christmas song Immortal Christmas. With today included in the calculations, there are only six more days until Christmas and I have a new parody video to keep you occupied for at least tonight. The Wagoner Brothers (Dan and Jack) took the classic Year Zero song from one of my favorite spooky satanist bands Ghost BC and they turned it into a Christmas parody called Hail Santa. The original track begins with the band with the band singing “Belial, Behemoth, Beelzebub, Asmodeus, Satanas, Lucifer” and in this track they masterfully change it to all the names of the Santa’s reindeers which is hilarious. Not to mention the new chorus the Brothers provide goes “Hail Santa, Jolly Fellow” instead of “Hail Satan, Archangelo.” The best part of the song is the fact that brothers are able to recapture the way Papa Emeritus II sings which is soothing but at the same very creepy and eerie. This is definitely one of my new favorite parodies that I have heard. If you want to download the track, just click here. Otherwise check out the brothers work on Youtube here and check out the song below and remember Metalheads Hail Santa!!!

Including today, there is only seven more days until Christmas and to get you all pumped up for Christmas I am delivering some Christmas music rock or metal style. We have a really special Christmas song for all of you today because it comes from an unorthodox source. The Sock Puppet Parody is a group that creates parody videos and songs with sock puppets and last month they released a parody of Slayer’s Raining Blood with Raining Bleach. For today’s video, they dive into Black Metal as they Hail Santa with Black Metal Legends Immortal as their inspiration for the song Immortal Christmas. One of the best things about the video is that it is done very well and even though you may not get any real crab walk you will thoroughly enjoy it. Check out the video below and don’t forget that it’s Hail Santa Metalheads!!!! For more info on the group, check them out on Twitter or visit their Youtube page.

The countdown to Christmas may have started back on Black Friday, but for me it doesn’t officially start until about 8 days which is all we have left till Christmas Day. Since The Interview is not going to be showing on Christmas Day anymore, I figured I would give you something to look forward to besides opening your presents. I am going to post some amazing Christmas videos or songs all the way until Christmas Day so that we can get into the Christmas spirit metal or rock style. So, to get us started on our journey to jolliest day of the year, we have turned to one of the best parody bands in the world and let me say a band we wish we had in the 80’s (although, I’m happy they’re here now) in Steel Panther. The band just wrote and recorded a brand new Christmas song called The Stocking Song which has all the comedy you expect from the band complete with them playing Deck The Halls on the Kazoo. For example check out this lyric, “We love to spread the love. The holiday season is the best time to pick up strippers at a strip club. The ones that are working on Christmas Eve usually have no family and are really lonely. So it’s super easy to take them home and do some kissin’ underneath the camel toe.” So check out the track below and get into the holiday spirit!!!
