b-mco-chris-vs-chris_nvy1Listen, I know I am not crazy and I also know that the next Superbowl (which is Superbowl LI) isn’t going to happen for another 274 days (from todays date May 7TH), but there were just too many factors that played a part in me thinking about it. First of all, this weekend saw the official release of Captain America: Civil War (read review here) into theaters and it also happens to be Free Comic Book Day which saw the release of Civil War II as well as a Captain America comic. So with all of this in my face constantly, it made me remember a bet that was waged during SuperBowl 49 between Chris Evans (Captain America) and Chris Pratt (Star Lord) an they called it Superhero Bowl 49 as Pratt was a Seattle Seahawks fan and Evans a New England Patriots fan. I don’t know why one wasn’t down for last years SuperBowl, but I would love to see it return once again. They made an incredible T-Shirt with proceeds going to charity and they dressed in character for each other’s charities. It was all fun and it was for great causes.

marvel_cinematic_universe_timeline_by_darkmudkip6-d9jhxzl copySo, I thought of a list of teams that I would love to see make the next SuperBowl in hopes that there is an actor from that city that plays a Marvel character. Anthony Mackie, the man who plays Falcon represents The New Orleans Saints. Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Scarlet Johansson (Black Widow), and Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) all can represent whatever team from the New York/New Jersey area (Jets or Giants). Don Cheadle who plays War Machine represents the Kansas City Chiefs while Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) could represent either the Oakland Raiders or the San Francisco 49ERS (depending on his preference). Chadwick Boseman is from South Carolina so it would be interesting to see what team he picks whether it be Carolina or any of the teams near by. If we go beyond the film, there’s Mark Ruffalo (Hulk) who can represent the Green Bay Packers and Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury) and Dave Bautista (Drax) could represent the Washington Redskins. Vin Diesel who plays Groot could also represent either Oakland or San Fran while Bradley Cooper (Rocket Raccoon) could represent the Philadelphia Eagles. If we go into the television universe of Marvel, Jon Bernthal (The Punisher) could represent the Washington Redskins while Kristen Ritter (Jessica Jones) could represent either the Eagles or the Pittsburgh Steelers (depending on her preference). Meanwhile Mike Colter (Luke Cage) is just like Chadwick Boseman where it depends on his preference as he is also from South Carolina. So, keep all of these options in mind once the football season starts and hopefully they bring back Superhero Bowl once again.

wet hot american summerWhile I was at one of my jobs I kept seeing a commercial for the new Netflix series Wet Hot American Summer: First Day Of Camp and I had to know what the heck it was. So, I decided to cover the film Wet Hot American Summer, which was released in 2001, for Cheeseball Cinema. The film is about a group of counselors at a summer camp in Maine in 1981 and it’s the last day of camp. All of them are panicking to finish some unsettled business that haven’t taken care of all summer long. For example, Beth (Janeane Garofalo) wants to fall in love so she tries to hook up with the professor next door Henry (David Hyde Pierce) or Coop (Michael Showalter) wants to desperately to go out with Katie (Marguerite Moreau), but her current boyfriend Andy (Paul Rudd) poses a big threat. The film also stars Michael Ian Black (This Is 40) as McKinley, Zak Orth (Romeo & Juliet) as JJ, A.D. Miles (The Tonight Show) as Gary, Christopher Meloni (Law & Order: SVU) as Gene, Molly Shannon (Never Been Kissed) as Gail, Ken Marino (Role Models) as Victor, Joe Lo Truglio (Superbad) as Neil, Amy Poehler (Inside Out) as Susie, Bradley Cooper (The Hangover) as Ben, and the film was directed by David Wain (Role Models).

wet hotThe whole film in my opinion is just absolute madness from beginning to end, but it’s hilarious at the same time. They do a great job poking fun at the 80’s and everything that was associate with the decade from hairstyles, taboos, music, and clothing. They even poke fun at how sex filled the comedies of the 80s were and they even take it a step further by having a gay sex scene in the film to which they can claim they did it before Brokeback Mountain. The other thing that is attractive about Wet Hot American Summer is the star power that is in the film as it has some of today’s top stars like Bradley Cooper and so many more. I thought when I was watching the film that maybe they had too much star power, but it actually works and it’s very funny. Some of the scenes can be a little cheesy at times, but what do you expect from a film that is goofy and fun. There isn’t a lot of T&A in the film, but a lot of teasing, girls in bikinis, making out, and a very hot and sexy Elizabeth Banks is also in the film. I definitely think this is a film that you should check out before you watch the new series just to get acquainted with some of the characters. On a scale of one being close to an A-List Hollywood film and five being the cheesiest film of all time, I am going to give the film a 1.5 for a final grade.

civilwarheaderSince Marvel’s Avengers: Age Of Ultron has now come and gone, we are just awaiting what the future will hold for the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). We know that Ant-Man is coming this summer, but what about all the other films for Marvel’s Phase 3? Well, Marvel has announced who is going to be starring in Captain America: Civil War and thanks to comingsoon.net we have who it is right here. Here is what they report, “Set for release in the United States on May 6, 2016, Captain America: Civil War is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo (Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, “Community”) from a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely (Captain America: The Winter Solider, Marvel’s Captain America: The First Avenger). The film returns Chris Evans as the iconic Super Hero character Steve Rogers/Captain America along with Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Falcon, Paul Bettany as The Vision, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye, Don Cheadle as Jim Rhodes/War Machine and Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch. After his debut in Marvel’s Ant-Man on July 17, 2015, Paul Rudd will make his first appearance alongside the Avengers as Scott Lang/Ant-Man in Captain America: Civil War. The cast of the film also includes Chadwick Boseman (42, Get on Up) as T’Challa/Black Panther, Emily VanCamp (“Revenge”) as Sharon Carter/Agent 13, Daniel Brühl (Inglourious Basterds, Bourne Ultimatum) as Baron Helmut Zemo, Frank Grillo as Brock Rumlow/Crossbones, William Hurt (Marvel’s The Incredible Hulk) as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross and Martin Freeman (The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.).” There’s also a rumor that the new Spider-Man will also appear in the film, but stay tuned here for more info as it becomes available.

HatefulEightBannerIf you’re a fan of Quentin Tarantino’s work like Django Unchained then you are going to be excited for this little piece of news that I have for you right here. While they have been filming the new Tarantino film The Hateful Eight, the cast of the film is on the newest issue of Entertainment Weekly. Samuel L. Jackson, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Kurt Russell are on the cover of the issue and you have to check out the stache that Kurt Russell has for the film. Other than that, here is what Tarantino told Entertainment Weekly, “For me it has more of a western ‘Iceman Cometh’ kind of vibe about it. A bunch of guys in a room who can’t trust each other. That wasn’t a marching order when I sat down to write the script, but pretty quickly I realized this is kind of a nice coming-full-circle.” Walton Goggins, Demian Bichir, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern and Channing Tatum (who has a minor role in the film). Here’s a synopsis of the film according to comingsoon.net, “In The Hateful Eight, set six or eight or twelve years after the Civil War, a stagecoach hurtles through the wintry Wyoming landscape. The passengers, bounty hunter John Ruth (Russell) and his fugitive Daisy Domergue (Leigh), race towards the town of Red Rock where Ruth, known in these parts as “The Hangman,” will bring Domergue to justice. Along the road, they encounter two strangers: Major Marquis Warren (Jackson), a black former union soldier turned infamous bounty hunter, and Chris Mannix (Goggins), a southern renegade who claims to be the town’s new Sheriff. Losing their lead on the blizzard, Ruth, Domergue, Warren and Mannix seek refuge at Minnie’s Haberdashery, a stagecoach stopover on a mountain pass. When they arrive at Minnie’s, they are greeted not by the proprietor but by four unfamiliar faces. Bob (Bichir), who’s taking care of Minnie’s while she’s visiting her mother, is holed up with Oswaldo Mobray (Roth), the hangman of Red Rock, cow-puncher Joe Gage (Madsen), and Confederate General Sanford Smithers (Dern). As the storm overtakes the mountainside stopover, our eight travelers come to learn they may not make it to Red Rock after all…” Check out the cover below:

I am actually shocked that someone actual did a remake of one of the most classic films of all time. There should be a list of films that should be deemed untouchable because of the fact that there was nothing wrong with them in the first place. Well, apparently is more of a reboot or something of that nature as National Lampoon presents Vacation. The film stars Ed Helms as a grown up Rusty Griswold who wants to continue his father’s tradition so he decides to take his wife (Christina Applegate) and his two sons James (Skyler Gisondo) and Kevin (Steele Stebbins) on a cross country trip to Wally World as it will be closing down forever. I assume that Chevy Chase is going to be making some sort of cameo in the film and the film also stars Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Charlie Day (Horrible Bosses). Check out the red band trailer below and check out Chris Hemsworth’s part in it:

marvelstudioseventsmall9More Marvel News for all of you as it pertains to the films that will close out Marvel’s Phase Three in Avengers: Infinity Wars Parts 1 and 2. The film is going to be in production for nine months and Joe and Anthony Russo, who are also directing Captain America: Civil War, announced that the film will be shot entirely using IMAX and ARRI’s next generation revolutionary 2D digital camera according to comingsoon.net. The Russo brothers talked about it stating, “The intent with the Infinity War films is to bring ten years of accumulative storytelling to an incredible climax. We felt that the best way to exploit the scale and scope required to close out the final chapter of these three phases, was to be the first films shot entirely on the IMAX/ARRI Digital camera.” Senior Executive Vice President, IMAX Corp. and CEO of IMAX Entertainment Greg Foster also spoke about the announcement stating, “Over the years, IMAX has had the incredible good fortune to work with some of the world’s finest, most talented filmmakers, who continue to push the envelope both technically and creatively. We could not be more excited to deepen our partnership with Joe and Anthony Russo, a pair of filmmakers we believe are next-generation trailblazers. Marvel’s Avengers franchise has become a global phenomenon and to have it pay off in this epic way using the IMAX/ARRI digital camera is the very definition of event movie-going.” Part opens in Imax on May 4, 2018 while part 2 will open n May 3, 2019 so stay tuned here for more info as it becomes available.

We are doing a collection of trailers in one post because we are approaching the time that all of the summer blockbusters and so on will release their trailers for all to see. 2015 is already shaping up to be one of the greatest years in a long time for films with so many antcipated releases coming up like The Avengers: Age Of Ultron, Jurassic World, Mad Max: Fury Road, Ant Man and so many more. I want to share all of the latest trailers with you guys to get you amped up for the big year. So, let’s get started.

The Avengers: Age Of Ultron: There have been a lot of trailers that have been released so far that have revealed the newest member of the team in Vision as well as the debut of the clip of Iron Man vs The Hulk at the MTV Movie Awards last night. The trailer I just watched titled Let’s Finish This just shows you every character in the Avengers during certain situations and further shows you some of the bad ass scenes you can expect. Below that I also have the Iron Man vs Hulk video:

Ant-Man: This is the other Marvel film that is going to be released this year besides the Avengers film that introduces us to the guy who was supposed to be a part of the Avengers in Ant-Man. The trailer introduces us to Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and his protege Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) who becomes Ant-Man and we also get introduced to who his villain is going to be. The trailer has a col scene at the end you should check out that I think is funny.

Terminator: Genisys: To get off of the superhero train and on to one of the greatest franchises to star one of the greatest action heroes of the 80’s in Arnold Schwarzenegger in the new film Terminator: Genisys which some fans feel takes the franchise backwards. Well, the new trailer throws another monkey wrench that I never saw coming as John Connor is trying to kill his mom now. Check it out for yourself:

Mad Max: Fury Road: I am so pumped to see this film in May because it looks so epic and series mastermind George Miller is at the helm which means it’s going to be great. We get to see a little bit more of the guy with the mask and the trailer explains a little more. Check it out below:

San Andreas: The Rock is already having a superstar year as Furious 7 has already grossed more than 800 million worldwide, but he has another film coming out this year. I have to admit that I didn’t really have an interest in seeing San Andreas, the latest disaster flick, but after seeing this trailer with the beautiful Carla Gugino, I might just go and see it.

Sinister 2: The first film was fantastic as I deemed it my surprise hit the year it was released. The idea of the first film which is continued into the sequel was absolutely brillaint and creepy. Well, the Bughuul was creepy as hell and he’s back and more visible his time around. Check out the trailer below as the film is slated for release in August.

Spectre: We treated a couple weeks ago to a teaser trailer from the upcoming Bond film Spectre which promises to be great, but I feel the series has taken a dark turn much like Skyfall did, but I’m not complaining. Check out the teaser trailer below:

Creed: I like the direction they decided to take with the Rocky series as we are going to receive the spin off Creed which finds Rocky training Apollo Creed’s grandson Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan). Check out a photo Sylvester Stallone posted below:

I don’t know about you guys, but I am super excited for the final phase 2 films that Marvel is putting out including the one I am previewing today in Ant-Man. Peyton Reed (The Break-Up) is the director for the film that stars Paul Rudd as con man Scott Lang who is trying to help his long time mentor  Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) pull off a heist that will save the world. In order to do so, Scott must wear a suit that shrinks him in size, but it increases his strength. The movie was originally supposed to be the first film in phase 3, but Marvel decided that it would be the last film of phase 2 and Captain America: Civil War would be the first film of nine in Phase 3. The rest of the cast includes Evangeline Lilly, Hayley Atwell, Judy Greer, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, David Dastmalchian, and many more. The teaser trailer looks pretty awesome already and did you see Rudd flying with the ant. This should be really cool, the movie gets released in July 2015, but for now check out the trailer below:

This is your second of two Single Of The Week posts that you are getting today as I felt pretty generous. With all the new surrounding Phil Rudd and all of the trouble that he is in, I felt that I would treat you guys to some new AC/DC. The band is getting ready to release their new album Rock Or Bust (it comes out November 28TH) which is unfortunately their first album without Malcolm Young who has been suffering from Dementia due to the stroke he suffered. The song is a very typical AC/DC sounding style song which means it’s bluesy, full of swagger, and it kicks major ass which is just the way we like it. Angus Young is still kicking ass as he rocks out with a balls to the wall guitar solo. This is what rock and roll is supposed to sound like people. Young bands can take a lesson from bands like AC/DC as to what real rock is. Check out the song below:

Keturunan-Superhero-2Amid all the craziness of all the announcements from the comic book rival companies DC and Marvel and for the fact that I started a new thing on the blog with Super Sundays, I have decided to do a comic book theme for Eddie’s Top 5. That’s right, I am looking at my Top 5 superhero movies that have come out. This category could cover any film made within the last thirty years that has something to do with the comics. Superhero films are amazing because they allow you to suspend reality and the films always have the perfect mix of drama and suspense within them. They are definitely the best melodramas around. Here is my top 5:

5. Superman (1978)– I will always list this film in any top 5 that has something to do with superheroes because it was the film that introduced me to the comic book world. For a long time, I couldn’t let go of the fact that the only person I could see dawn the Superman suit and cape was Christopher Reeve. Man Of Steel has allowed us finally to see someone else dawn the cape, but to me there was no Superman like Reeve.

4. The Avengers– Marvel had the task of fitting the Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, and Hawkeye all into one film and make it successful. That is a hell of a lot of personalities for one film, but what a masterful job that Joss Whedon did with the film. Still one of my favorites, I cannot wait for the second Avengers movie to come out.

3. Captain America: The First Avenger– The Captain was always one of my favorite Marvel characters and he got his proper film when Chris Evans moved from playing Human Torch to tackling the Captain. In this one we see Captain America’s origin story all the way to his battle against Red Skull (Hugo Weaving).

2. Guardians Of The Galaxy– A lot of people walked out of the theaters saying this was the greatest superhero film of all time and while I certainly agree that it is one of the greatest superhero films. Marvel proved that they could take a rather unknown obscure story and turn into the third highest grossing Marvel film ever reaching $700 Million.

1. The Dark Knight– This is definitely one of my all time favorite films, it just slightly edges out Guardians Of The Galaxy. I will never forget getting my ticket to the Thursday night premier of the film and just being blown away by a single performance. The performance is legendary and masterful by Heath Ledger as The Joker. It was magic on screen and I went to see the film four times in the theaters. I watch it every time it’s on television and on DVD. Heath literally reinvented The Joker almost to the point where he is now untouchable.

Films that almost made the list: Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: Winter Soldier, X-Men: Days Of Future Past, The Watchmen, and Batman (1989). For a bonus trailer, here is the trailer for The Avengers: Age Of Ultron and some leaked test footage of Ant Man starring Paul Rudd
