For today’s Trailers Part Quatro (number four in Portuguese), we are going to look at some movie trailers of upcoming films. I’ll tell you exactly what I think as to whether I think it’s worth my time, but you never know it could be worth yours. Trailers can be misleading like the one to The Witch, but sometimes they are accurate. Let’s check out some trailers:

Hairmetal Shotgun Zombie Massacre– That is not a typo my friends, that is the name of the film. I love b-movie/low budget horror films that mix in my favorite genre of music and let me tell you I am super excited for this one. It says it’s the bastard child of Evil Dead and Heavy Metal Parking Lot and it looks good from the soundtrack to the film itself. The film even features cameos from heavy metal titans like Slayer’s Tom Araya, Lamb Of God’s Randy Blythe, and Morbid Angel’s David Vincent. Check it out for yourself below and check out their Facebook page here:

Sadako Vs Kayako– Are you a fan of The Ring or The Grudge franchises? Then I may have the movie for you right now. Did you ever wonder what it would be like if the ghosts from both films fought each other? The teaser trailer that is out there doesn’t show you much other than what the two ghosts do, but this should be interesting. In theaters June 2016

10 Cloverfield Lane– The first trailer didn’t really tell us much about the film other than the fact that they are in a bomb shelter and John Goodman does not want them to leave. In the second trailer, we find out that she (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) was in a car accident and he supposedly saved her from a chemical disaster of some sort. She starts to question why they are there and it could be that Goodman is the monster. J.J. Abrams (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) is attached to this film which means my butt will be in a seat seeing this. In theaters March 10, 2016

Pete’s Dragon– On the lighter side of things, we have the new Disney film Pete’s Dragon which is about a boy who claims he was never alone in the woods for the six years he spent out there alone. The film also stars Bryce Dallas Howard and Robert Redford. To be honest, probably not a film I will go to the theaters to watch even though it looks good.

Alice Through The Looking Glass– I have never seen the first film and it was because of the fact that I hated the way Johnny Depp looked and was convinced Tim Burton was ruining classics. Now I may have to give that film a shot just so I know what is going on in this one because it looks visually stunning to say the least. In theaters this summer.

monster entertainment awards 5Ever since the start of the Monster Entertainment Awards, I have always loved leaving the votes up to the people because you end up getting surprised at some of the winners. Obviously, there are those films or albums that you expect to win and they end up winning, but that is expected (also applies to the music side). One of the biggest surprises in my opinion came in the album of the year category, Rock album of the year, and remake of the year to name a few. I really expected Star Wars: The Force Awakens to take movie of the year, but again you always get surprised when the people vote. I want to send a shout out to all the fans of rock band Bobaflex for banding together and getting Anything That Moves as the Rock Album Of The Year because that is what it’s all about when we say fan participation. I also want to send a shout out to anyone that took the time to visit the blog and vote as well. As usual, I am going to review all of the winners on the music side for the album of the week category, but there will only be two (we have already reviewed two of the winners). So, without further ado, here are all the winners:

Now is your time to make your voices heard as I open the voting for the 5TH Annual Monster Entertainment Awards. This particular post is for the movie side and the rest of the awards we are giving out like Superhero TV Show Of The Year (1st Time), Male Wrestler Of The Year, Female Wrestler Of The Year, etc. Some of the awards you can expect from the movie side are some of the usual’s like Movie Of The Year, Bad ass Movie Of The Year, Horror film of the year, Cameo Of The Year, and more. We have some surprises in some of the categories that may throw you off, but we felt that they were the best of the year. Take your time, look over the categories, cast your vote (it’s your civic duty as fans), and share the hell out of this post. You have until January 31ST at 11:59 PM ET to cast your vote

monster entertainment awards 5I want to welcome everyone to a special time here as we announce the categories and the nominees for each on the Fifth Annual Monster Entertainment Awards. Every year as usual, we award the best in music, TV, and film by nominating the films that we feel kicked ass in 2015. We are doing things a little different this year as we are no longer doing the #FriskyFriday Babe Of The Year Award, but we are still teaming up with MRXPunchOut.Wordpress.com for the Male and Female Wrestlers of the year awards. I hope everyone is excited as another year is behind us and we can celebrate it with the 5TH Annual Monster Entertainment Awards. It’s the award post that celebrates everything in music and movies with wrestling as well cause it’s sports entertainment after all.

Star_Wars_The_Force_AwakensI have been waiting a very long time for a film to absolutely blow me away and J.J. Abrams just did that for me with his new film Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The film is the seventh episode in the series and is the first since 2005’s Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith. The film takes place 30 years after the events of The Return Of The Jedi and The First Order of the Galactic Empire is on the rise as it fearless leader Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) are on the hunt for the whereabouts of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamil) which are with a a resistance fighter pilot named Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) and his droid BB-8. During a mission to abtrieve the two of them, a stormtrooper eventually named Finn (John Boyega) sees the wrong doings of the First Order and decides to fight back along with a courageous girl named Rey (Daisy Ridley). The film also stars Harrison Ford (Star Wars) as Han Solo, Carrie Fisher (Star Wars) as General Leia, Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years A Slave) as Maz Kanata, Andy Serkis (Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes) as Supreme Leader Snook, Domhnall Gleeson (Ex Machina) as General Hux, Anthony Daniels (Star Wars) as C-3PO, Peter Mayhew (Star Wars) as Chewbacca, and Gwendoline Christie (Game Of Thrones) as Captain Phasma.

star warsI am trying my best not to spoil any major details for anyone, but for here on out I am going to give you a spoiler alert just in case I do. There are details in this film that are going to blow your mind like who are Han and Leia’s kid(s), what connection does Kylo Ren have to Darth Vader (considering he is obsessed with him), and where is Luke Skywalker? Most of these are answered in the film and there are some tough moments especially if you are a fan of any original characters. Kylo Ren’s character is an amazing study because he struggles with the light and the dark side, but the real show stealer in my opinion is Rey (Ridley). In my opinion, she is an absolute bad ass and she is such an amazing character, but I am not going to give away any major details about her. All I can say is that she is a true bad ass. One of the biggest concerns that I had about the film was whether or not it would live up to the original three released and that hopefully it was way better than the prequels. J.J. Abrams achieved all of that with this masterpiece as he did the series justice. He gave you everything from comedic moments, action packed moments, to the very dramatic moments all in one film. Kudos go to the special effects team on a job well done. The only thing I could have wished for a little more was more Captain Phasma who we only see in brief moments, but hopefully we’ll see more of her in the future. This is a definite must see film for any fan of Sci-Fi or Star Wars in general. I am going to give the film an A+ for a final grade.

cordenFor today’s Countdown To Christmas post, we have something for all of you that has to do with Star Wars considering the newest film Star Wars: The Force Awakens was just released. Unlike most of the internet, I am not going to give away any spoilers just in case you guys have not seen the film yet. So about a week or so ago, @Midnight and Nerdist host Chris Hardwick visited The Late Late Show with James Corden and together they sang a song to commemorate the fact that Star Wars had come out. They had Chewbacca on Piano and a Stormtrooper on bass as they they sang The Star Wars Song. They sing the song to the tune of Chestnuts Roasting On A Open Fire and the words are kind of clever. I have to give that to them so check it out below and go and see Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

star trekThe news I had heard before today was that the brand new Star Trek: Beyond trailer was supposed to be attached to Star Wars: The Force Awakens film. Now Paramount had no choice but to release the trailer after it had been leaked online which is what exactly happened to Paramount with the trailer to the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film. These companies have to understand that we live in an age now where people no longer want to wait and be surprised like Christmas morning. Instead, they want to be like yours truly who sneaks into his parents bedroom (when I was a kid of course) to see if I could find my Christmas presents. It’s the age of the internet where everything leaks or at least someone is stealing something and revealing it to the world leaving studios no choice, but to release the trailers.

One thing that I am baffled about and that is why in the world would you be anxious to see this trailer? After watching the trailer myself, I couldn’t help but think that this is one I am definitely going to pass up on when it comes to the theaters. I love the fact that they used the Beastie Boys song Sabotage during the whole entire trailer, but it just doesn’t seem as great as the previous two films. This one could be a major flop, but only time will tell. The Turtles trailer was the one worth wanting to see early because that looks and promises to be better than the first film. The whole cast (Chris Pine, Simon Pegg, John Cho, Zachary Quinto, etc.) returns with Idris Elba and Sofia Boutella also starring in the film. There is apparently no Enterprise as it looks like it gets destroyed in the trailer and they seem to be stranded on some planet. You can take my opinion (which is exactly that just an opinion) or you can sit back, relax, and watch the trailer for yourself below:
