Cheeseball Cinema: Ilsa, Harem Keeper Of The Oil Sheiks (1976)

Sexploitation and Cheeseball Cinema go together like Peanut Butter and Jelly, they just go well together. Plus, we covered Ilsa, She Wolf Of The SS sometime ago so I wanted to check out the sequel. So, what we have here for you today is Ilsa, Harem Keeper Of The Oil Sheiks which was released in 1976 and once again stars the beautiful Dyanne Thorne as Ilsa. Ilsa this time is taking care of the operations for Sheik Al Sharif (Jerry Delony) as she takes care of all his sex slaves. Ilsa and the Sheik begin to suspect that their guests, Dr. Kaiser (Richard Kennedy) and Cmdr Scott (Max Thayer) are not just their to negotiate a plan for oil, but to sabotage his operations.  She tries to seduce the Commander, but Ilsa may have found her match. The film also stars Haji (Supervixens) as Alina, Uschi Digard (Supervixens) as Inge, Sharon Kelly (Supervixens) as Nora, George ‘Buck’ Flower (They Live) as a begger, Tanya Boyd (Black Shampoo) as Satin, Marilyn Joi (Kentucky Fried Movie) as Velvet, and the film was directed by Don Edmonds (8 Million Ways To Die).

You automatically know what you are going to get when you watch a sexploitation, women in prison film which is a whole lot of T&A. The great thing about this film is that it actually has a pretty good story attached to it and the acting is actually pretty good for the most part. The only thing is how old is Ilsa? She served the nazi party during world war 2 and now she serves the oil sheiks some years later and she doesn’t look like she aged one bit. But that is the beauty of these films where you don’t need continuity moving on for every sequel. I actually look forward to seeing the other films in the series for more Cheeseball Cinema entries. As I said before, there is plenty of T&A as well as some unkempt seventies bush and some of the torture devices they came up with for this film were actually quite clever, but a little on the kinky side with some like the boob vice or the exploding vagina. On a scale of 1 being close to an A-List Hollywood film and 5 being the cheesiest film of all time, I am going to give the film a 3.5 because it’s practically softcore porn, but with some action and violence. Plus, a lot of the actors were painted to look Arab and it’s a little too obvious.

 

Cheeseball Cinema: Supervixens (1975)

If there was ever a Cheeseball Cinema Hall Of Fame, Russ Meyer would be in there alongside Lloyd Kaufman. Russ was the king of Sexploitation films in the mid 60’s to late 70s making films that over-exaggerate on everything with real campy humor. What we have here is the film Supervixens which was released in 1975 that he wrote, produced, directed, photographed, and edited himself. The film follows a mechanic named Clint (Charles Pitts), who is married to the hottest girl in his neighborhood, but gets screwed over. Clint is constantly getting accused of cheating, by his nymphomaniac wife Angel (Shari Eubank) until he can longer take it. When he tries to tell her where to go, she viciously attacks him and he gets the cops called on him. One of the cops Harry Sledge (played by the late Charles Napier) decides he likes Clint’s old lady so he puts the moves on her. When he can’t satisfy her, she makes fun of him which results in Sledge killing her. Now, to cover up his tracks, Sledge blames the whole thing on Clint which forces him to be on the run in a wild sexual adventure.

The film also stars Uschi Digard (Ilsa, Harem Keeper of the Oil Sheiks ), the late and beautiful Haji (Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!), Deborah McGuire (The Godson), and Sharon Kelly (Ilsa, Harem Keeper of the Oil Sheiks). I decided to review this film for Cheeseball Cinema because of the fact that I found out Haji had died a couple days ago. If your expecting an Oscar award winning film, then I have no idea why you even clicked on this because you won’t find it here. The film like I said above over-exaggerates on everything from Penis sizes to sex being one of the big themes besides big breasted women (which Meyers loved). Sex is one of the most over-exaggerated elements in this film that Russ Meyer tries to make it not so taboo like it is in Europe. Russ actually does a terrific job handling all the duties himself when he was making this film which makes him a true auteur. On a scale of 1 being close to an A-List film and 5 being the cheesiest film of all time, I am giving this film a 5. If you can find it, then check it out if you dare.
