obituaryOne of the biggest false conceptions about music videos is that it always has to be a video of the band performing their track live in a concert setting or in a dark and scary area. That is why it is always cool to see a band do something completely different than what other bands are doing because after all you want to emphasize what you are singing about in your track through visuals. That is exactly what legendary death metal act Obituary did for their track Violence which is off of their current record Inked In Blood and it’s our music video of the week. The band went all out creating an animated video that is very fun and gory at the same time as the video was directed by Hungarian animator Balász Gróf. The video is hilarious as the band goes through different situations in their van as they set off for their tour. The band deals with zombies, Godzilla, and driving through areas as they try to get to their show on time at the Hard Club. Check out the video below and check out the band’s Facebook page for more stuff like tour info, etc.

I have to be honest with all of you out there in the cyber world and that is that there are a lot of bands out there that I have either heard their name and not their music or I just never heard of them period. Enter Shikari falls into the first category of I have heard of the band, but never listened to a song from them, but when I saw that the animator from The Ren & Stimpy Show did their  video I was immediately curious. The band were able to land Ren & Stimpy animator Peter McAdams to do their video for them about shoddy service at high class (overpriced) restaurants. In the video, the band complains to a manager about the service particularly the lipstick on the glass, the shoddy service, the heathen cook, and how the vegetables are not even in season. The most incredible part about the video is how masterful McAdams is when he is able to match the emotions of the characters to the emotions in the actual song itself. This just may be one of my favorite music videos of 2014 and it’s definitely one that you should check out from this English rock band that mixes all sorts of different elements into their music like Electronic, hardcore, etc. Check out the video below and check out their upcoming tour dates below that.
