Star_Wars_The_Force_AwakensI have been waiting a very long time for a film to absolutely blow me away and J.J. Abrams just did that for me with his new film Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The film is the seventh episode in the series and is the first since 2005’s Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith. The film takes place 30 years after the events of The Return Of The Jedi and The First Order of the Galactic Empire is on the rise as it fearless leader Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) are on the hunt for the whereabouts of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamil) which are with a a resistance fighter pilot named Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) and his droid BB-8. During a mission to abtrieve the two of them, a stormtrooper eventually named Finn (John Boyega) sees the wrong doings of the First Order and decides to fight back along with a courageous girl named Rey (Daisy Ridley). The film also stars Harrison Ford (Star Wars) as Han Solo, Carrie Fisher (Star Wars) as General Leia, Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years A Slave) as Maz Kanata, Andy Serkis (Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes) as Supreme Leader Snook, Domhnall Gleeson (Ex Machina) as General Hux, Anthony Daniels (Star Wars) as C-3PO, Peter Mayhew (Star Wars) as Chewbacca, and Gwendoline Christie (Game Of Thrones) as Captain Phasma.

star warsI am trying my best not to spoil any major details for anyone, but for here on out I am going to give you a spoiler alert just in case I do. There are details in this film that are going to blow your mind like who are Han and Leia’s kid(s), what connection does Kylo Ren have to Darth Vader (considering he is obsessed with him), and where is Luke Skywalker? Most of these are answered in the film and there are some tough moments especially if you are a fan of any original characters. Kylo Ren’s character is an amazing study because he struggles with the light and the dark side, but the real show stealer in my opinion is Rey (Ridley). In my opinion, she is an absolute bad ass and she is such an amazing character, but I am not going to give away any major details about her. All I can say is that she is a true bad ass. One of the biggest concerns that I had about the film was whether or not it would live up to the original three released and that hopefully it was way better than the prequels. J.J. Abrams achieved all of that with this masterpiece as he did the series justice. He gave you everything from comedic moments, action packed moments, to the very dramatic moments all in one film. Kudos go to the special effects team on a job well done. The only thing I could have wished for a little more was more Captain Phasma who we only see in brief moments, but hopefully we’ll see more of her in the future. This is a definite must see film for any fan of Sci-Fi or Star Wars in general. I am going to give the film an A+ for a final grade.
