We are officially ten days into the month of October and hopefully all of you out there are enjoying the month whether you are travelling to your local haunts or just checking out horror movies all month long like yours truly. I’ve been doing this since 2012 and I have not regretted one single year which is why I keep going and today we have a good one for all of you. The late Karen Black (House Of 1000 Corpses) was an amazing actress who in my opinion will always be Mother Firefly, but for today I decided to check out an anthology film where she has a part in every story in the made for TV film Trilogy Of Terror. In the first tale, Black plays a teacher who is being blackmailed by a student who is just absolutely obsessed with her. The second story, she plays a twin who believes that her other sister is just pure evil and must be stopped and the third and final story she plays a woman who bought a very exotic doll for her boyfriend, but it may just be the wrong present as it comes to life. The film stars Robert Burton (Curse Of The Black Widow) as Chad Foster, George Gaynes (Police Academy) as Dr. Ramsey, John Karlen (Dark Shadows: The Vampire Curse) as Thomas Amman, Jim Storm (Night Of The Dark Shadows) as Eddie Nells, Kathryn Reynolds (How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying) as Anne Richards, Gregory Harrison (Falcon Crest) as Arthur Moore, Orin Cannon (Burnt Offerings) as Hotel Clerk, and the film was directed by Dan Curtis (Trilogy Of Terror II).

If you are looking for a lot of gore or nudity then you need not look into this film because after all I did mention that it was a made for TV movie and it was made back in the 70’s. With that being said they did the best they could with what they had and they made a pretty decent film. The first story I kept thinking where is the horror in all of this, but it is what is revealed in the end that you begin to understand as the tables are turned. The second story was clever, but I had the twist figured out almost right from the get go, but that still didn’t deter me from enjoying it. The third and final story is the one the general public usually knows about because of the Zuni Hunters Doll that comes to life and attacks Karen Black. He is the most known story because when you see Trilogy Of Terror anywhere his ugly mug is usually plastered everywhere. The third story is actually more closer to the tropes of slasher horror than any of the other stories and may also be why it is remembered by so many, but nonetheless Karen Black is the ultimate star of the film. She has to handle so many different personalities and she pulls each one off very well. One thing that I will say is that Robert Burton does a great job playing an absolute creep because some of the cold dead stares he gives her even gave me the creeps. If you love Karen Black and you love anthology horror than definitely give this one a watch for sure. I am going to give the film an B+ for a final grade.

The final part of the voting process which involves one of my other favorite categories which is film.
