There was one thing that was for certain when it came to that decadent decade known as the 1980’s and that was that there were films that came with iconic tracks. Another statement that was true, if John Hughes’s name was attached to the film somehow, then it meant that iconic music would be on it for sure. That was definitely the case with today’s Soundtrack Saturday track Holiday Road by Fleetwood Mac guitar man Lindsey Buckingham. The track was written and featured for one of the most iconic 80’s comedies in National Lampoon’s Vacation. The film starred Chevy Chase as Clark Griswold, a man determined on giving his family the vacation of a lifetime by bringing them on a road trip to Wally World. Every time you hear the song, you can’t help but immediately think of the film and how much fun the film was because it kicked off the opening titles of the film. A very iconic track which Lindsey Buckingham played every instrument on the track. Check the extended version below:

HoleGoldDustWomanIt’s another Saturday which can only mean one thing and that is I have another Soundtrack Saturday pick for all of you. I know what your thinking and I could have used this for a cover of the week, but when you’re dealing with a song that appeared in any of The Crow films in the franchise then you have something special. It was one of those films where original music and or covers were recorded especially for the film and it always featured the heavyweights of the metal world along with some heavyweights of the Gothic or industrial world. So, what Io have for you is Gold Dust Woman by Hole which was originally performed by Fleetwood Mac and the song was featured on The Crow: City Of Angels which was an underrated film. The film saw Vincent Pérez taking the role of Ashe Corven, the latest man to be resurrected from the grave to avenge the wrongly death of himself and his son. The great thing about the track is that Courtney Love does an amazing job channeling Nicks for the track and the band makes the song a little darker than the original, but they still make it sexy. Plus my favorite member of Hole in Melissa Auf der Maur’s bass playing is pretty incredible as well on the track. I would check out the soundtrack as it featurs this track plus original songs from Korn and the Deftones with White Zombie doing a KC & The Sunshine Band cover. Check out Gold Dust Woman below:

We are being generous today and we are giving you a double shot of Music Video Of The Week posts. Los Angeles rock band and Vegas Rocks! Magazine Awards Best New Artist 2012 winner Dead Sara are back with a brand new record that they are gearing up to release called Pleasure To Meet You via Pocket Kid Records. The album which is a follow up to the self titled debut is gearing up to be released in March of 2015 and the band has unveiled the first single off the record which happens to have a music video for called Mona Lisa and it’s this week’s Music Video Of The Week. The track itself has some soul to it while having some beefy, chunky riffs to it as well that gets in your face while the video gets a little awkward in the beginning. We see the band doing some finger snapping before the riff kicks in an meanwhile you are seeing some creepy house guests at this house party that is being thrown. After a while though it becomes total absolute unapologetic rock and roll debauchery at this party because these people are getting down and they throw a party like only Californians can throw. I absolutely love the bands sound and guitarist Siouxsie Medley can jam and I love front woman Emily Armstrong’s voice which reminds me a little bit like Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac. This is definitely one band to check out and if you want to pre-order the new record all tyou have to do is visit their Pledgemusic page right here. Otherwise sit back and relax and enjoy the video below.
