Sc%C3%A8ne-Molson-Canadian-Stage-Slipknot-2So there was some pretty scary news delivered recently regarding one of the hottest metal bands in the land Slipknot. Slipknot was supposed to start their big summer tour with Marilyn Manson on June 9TH, but apparently that isn’t going to happen at least not by that time. Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor has to undergo unplanned spinal surgery. The frontman released a statement explaining, “Regretfully, I’m sending this to our fans to inform you that we will be postponing the first couple of weeks of our upcoming U.S tour. Unfortunately, I had to undergo an unplanned spinal surgery. I am recovering nicely, and all went well! I need a little recovery time before hitting the stage. We will start the summer tour in Nashville on 6/28 and continue as previously scheduled. An update on the rescheduled dates will be available in the next few days. I hope you all understand and thanks for always having my back! Thank you, Corey.” Touring isn’t easy and the physical demands of a Slipknot tour must be high. I have the canceled dates below with the non canceled dates as well:

2016 Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival - Weekend 1 - Day 2

This next piece of news certainly affects me considering that I have tickets to one of the shows on the Not In This Lifetime Guns N Roses tour. Apparently Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots has barred Guns N Roses from playing past curfew. While Guns N Roses have had a tendency of showing up on stage late in the past, Foxboro selectwoman Ginny Coppola has put her foot down making the curfew 11:15PM and it’s because of “noise issues” according to her. She stated in an interview with The Sun Chronicle, “This is on a Tuesday and a Wednesday. If this was a weekend, I wouldn’t have a problem with it. But it’s a work night. This isn’t going to be an acoustic evening. It’s going to be loud.” Apparently Gillette Stadium management tried to push for a 11:40 and even an 11:30 curfew, but those were shot down in flames. I’m not completely surprised by this decision because the curfew at the Xfinity Center which is literally the next town over from Foxboro’s curfew is 11PM and I personally do not want to be at the stadium all night long.

Muhammad-AliIn non music related news, legendary boxing champion Muhammad Ali has passed away at the age of 74. Muhammad Ali was an icon in and out of the boxing ring whether it was beating men in the ring or beating the US government for what he believed in, he was a champion. A lot of rockers expressed their feelings over the death of Muhammad Ali like Dave Mustaine who wrote on Twitter, “I am deeply saddened by the loss of one of my biggest heroes, the greatest, Muhammad Ali.” There are a lot more that expressed their thoughts and you can check them out by visiting Loudwire here. R.I.P. Muhammad Ali “Float like a butterfly and sting like a bee.”
