One of my new favorite bands on the scene is South Carolina Nu Metal band Islander. Their first record Violence & Destruction was one of my favorite albums from 2014 and it was an album that combined all the elements I loved about Nu-Metal into one band. Well, the band is back and they have a brand new album on the horizon called Power Under Control which will be released September 9TH via Victory Records. The band has some pretty cool pre-orders going on right now like a Fuchsia colored vinyl which you can check out here as well as all the other cool items. Anyways, for our second single of the week, we chose the band’s latest song they unleashed called Think It Over which is a cool track because it features the legend H.R. of Bad Brains. Mikey Carvajal talked to Metal Sucks about the track saying, “Think It Over’ is a rally cry anthem to encourage the youth of today to think about their lives and to make good decisions. We are all born with a type of youthful wildness that if we allow to be tamed, will flourish into harnessed power rather than wasted energy. The idea is to be like a saddled horse instead of a frustrated stallion. To have Power Under Control.” Check out the track below:

For this week’s Unsigned Band Of The Week, we are leaving the sunny beaches of California and we are heading back east to the home of the rock and roll hall of fame in Cleveland, Ohio for the band Titans In Time. I love the band’s description that they have on their Facebook page which reads as, “For centuries, many have been captivated with myths of the Greek titans. Commanding and powerful, their stories have set the ideal standard for dominance. However, the Greeks are not the only ones with their set of titans. In Cleveland, Ohio, a new group of titans are emerging and are equally as dominating.” The track I chose for you guys from the band comes from their latest EP Vulcan and the song is called Over And Over. The band has a wide range of influences and it’s clear when you hear the track because you can hear elements ranging from FFDP to Breaking Benjamin in their music. This is truly a band to be reckoned with and you should check them out. You can follow them on Facebook page here or just check out their website here

download (1)Nu Metal giants Korn have been having the time of their lives since the return of Brian “Head” Welch into their lineup which includes the brand new album they released called The Paradigm Shift which was the first in eight years with the guitarist. The band also went on the road with the 2014 Rockstar Energy Mayhem Fest and the band along with their videographer Sebastien Paquet recorded everything on the road documenting the bands experience on the festival. The documentary also features appearances from Ice T (Body Count), Upon A Burning Body, Avenged Sevenfold, Islander, Texas Hippie Coalition, Emmure, Trivium, as well as you’ll see various radio interviews the band does, and some intimate moments they share with other bands and vice versa.

kornThe documentary is actually pretty amazing even though it just seems like a continuous video after another rather than a documentary. One of my only problems with the doc is they show footage in Boston (which is really Mansfield), but the live footage is from Dallas, Texas that follows. The doc features some really cool behind the scenes stuff that you don’t really get to see if you’re on the outside looking in. Of course, the doc features the band running through hits like Somebody Someone, Got The Life, Falling Away From Me, Shoots & Ladders, Blind, as well as some of the newer material like Spike In My Veins, Hater, and Never Never. The footage that was shot is absoultely amazing especially when the band is in Colorado, that was definitely one of my favorite spots that they shot in. One of the other things I liked is how supportive they are of other bands on the bill, it’s classy! If I was you and you were as big a fan of Korn as I am , I would definitely check this out. I wonder if it’s going to get a release somewhere in the future? I am going to give this video an A- for a final grade. Check it out below:
